Would it work to use a new generation mobile phone for this? New models come with LIDAR cameras.

I’m guessing that some cleanup is still needed for the actual use in tables.

I think the only roms this method worked on, are on this site…
So I am guessing if you don’t see the roms altsound file on that site, this method will probably not work on that particular rom.
I am also guessing the owner of that site, has tried this method on all the roms, and just added all the ones the method above worked on.
I could be mistaken though.
I think you’re right. I tried ripping the altsound from “F-14 Tomcat”- though I’m not sure, pinmame tells me it is a system11a pin- in de Google sheet, that refers back to GEN_S11X. I don’t know how to interpret that.
Anyway- it poduces one WAV file and one CSV. I was able to switch between sounds and play them with pressing the spacebar.
It is not present on that altsound webpage- so I assume it is not possible for now. Too bad because that pin just screams for a decent altsound treatment if it was just for the voice samples.

March 3, 2021 at 1:50 am in reply to: Hello from the Netherlands (WIP cab pictures included) #227202I like the vinyl wrapping, can you tell a little more about what that is?
The wrap is standard car vinyl like this. The material is similar to the vinyl used for printed graphics- perhaps this is easier to apply. The wrap is fairly easy to apply on a clean surface and with a blowdryer you can shape it around curved surfaces. I have parts of my arcade cabinet wrapped with “3D carbon” wrap:
There are a lot of colors and patterns available- and the finish looks better than paint IMHO. Ofcourse custom printed vinyl graphics are even nicer- but this was a nice tradeoff between an attractive finish and attention-grabbing graphics.
If you Google on “car vinyl wrap” you’ll find many shops that sell these.

Yeah, I’m quite happy to have her involved. She is not playing a lot of games, but she also has a history of playing retro games. Both pin and arcade cabinets are in the extension of our living room so they’re quite present in our home- without her support it wouldn’t have happenend

January 2, 2021 at 11:19 am in reply to: Teensy/Ledmatrix issue- seems to require manual start #217906Thanks for the response. It has been a while so I was about to give up.
The weird thing is that the output looks absolutely normal. The teensy itself blinks as expected (if using the DOF test table, the teensy responds to the keypresses like ‘R’ by blinking its on-circuit led). The DOF output looked like below. I know it works (see this clip) so the config seems to be correct.
I have focussed on building the cabinet for the past few weeks; so I’m going to rewire the matrix and see if the problem persists. I’ll get back with an update when I’ve soldered the matrix wires.
