I’m about to pull my hair out with what would seem to be a simple subject so I’ll put out there to see if anyone has a good way to do what I’m trying to do.
I’m working on a VPX version of Firepower II. Simple enough but it has some oddly shaped gates i.e. long brackets with wires that form the gate only half the length of the bracket. In VPX (or any other version of VP) I’ve tried, using the “stock” gate objects size themselves very strangely. as you set the length of the bracket the gate it self gets taller/longer. At some point I saw where @dark had posted a primitive gate “tool” of some sort but I can’t seem to find it now.
I’d appreciate any advice you may have.
Thanks in advance!

October 23, 2016 at 8:22 pm #39537There is decent match for a gate like that in the standard “primitives collection” which is always floating around. I believe it is “Orn‐Gate‐Bracket‐Medium.” Really, you’re in better hands with Dark but thought I’d toss that in if things don’t work out.

October 23, 2016 at 8:36 pm #39538It’s more the wire’s he’s having difficulty with since they are not your standard gate wires, they are all offset, the one in particular is quite weird.
For anyone who may also have a use for these wires here they are:

I applied a quick texture map/uv mapping but I could come back and texture bake them at some point perhaps when the wip is further along.
