I started up my cabinet for the first time. everything is wired correctly and I have a sainsmart 16 ch usb relay board to control my contactors, gear, and shaker. the board is showing power, and the pc has detected it and it says working properly. can anyone give me some advice on how to test it using some sort of program or relay manager? I’ve watched several videos and searched all over the internet but no luck. The relay board manager that randr used showing in one of his videos doesn’t work for this board. Any help would be appreciated, sorry for the noob question, this whole process has been a huge learning curve for me.

January 23, 2019 at 9:36 pm #110838I didn’t think the 16 channel board worked with dof? Perhaps it does now with newer dof version but I know it never used to work so everyone used the 8 channel. What version of dof you running?

January 23, 2019 at 9:49 pm #110840I am using the newest version of DOF R3. So I might possibly have to buy 2 8ch instead of the one 16ch? I will give that program a shot outhere.

January 24, 2019 at 4:54 am #110853I downloaded the DOF and ledwiz.dll files from pinscape. Transferred the new files over to replace the existing ones, and made sure none were “blocked”. I verified to check that DOF was working by loading a table and backglass, and it verified the pluggins were active. Tried to run the LED Tester and it gave me this error: “unable to load ledwiz.dll (windows error 127)”

January 24, 2019 at 7:34 am #110859In your user settings in dof config site make sure dof is selected and not legacy. Also did you try the mjr (newer modded dof version) I did look at that for the first time just now and mentions 4 and 8 sainsmart boards but don’t mention 16. Doesn’t mean it won’t work but recall I never used to. I myself don’t use sainsmart just 2 ledwiz’s but I would try the modded dof for sure and see what happens. Also did you add serial number of the sainsmart to your cabinet xml?

January 24, 2019 at 10:07 am #110863I know for the 8 sainsmart relay board you no longer need a cabinet file with newest DOF

January 24, 2019 at 12:01 pm #110868I do have an ledwiz, but I like the idea of not having to buy separate relays for it. I see Randr is using 2 led wiz boards, what do you recommend?

January 24, 2019 at 12:29 pm #110872I thought i read somewhere that if you were goin to run the sainsmart 16 that it couldn’t be the usb version. Hopefully that is the case because I bought the LedWiz + gp plus the non usb sainsmart 2 wks ago. Im almost to the point of installing my solenoids and contactors.
