Metallica, for VPX Beta 2442 or higher.
Currently using mtl_164 rom.
Thanks to arngrim for adding the DOF sounds
Thanks to Northvibe for the plastic scans!
Thanks to dark for the Sparky head model
Thanks to hauntfreaks for the modified Sparky head texture
Thanks to randr for the help with booleaning!
Thanks to Spektre for helping remove the spherical distortions from the PF images and stitching it together
Thanks to the testers: randr, paulohotline, gtxjoe, arngrim, markmon, and the rest
Please enjoy the table. If you complain about the lighting I’m telling you right now you can get bent or get a better monitor, whichever shuts you up faster.
Punch it!

June 28, 2016 at 5:52 pm #32585Good work! Plays fast and has that authentic super difficulty of a real Metallica Pro table.
I’m getting frequent crashes in VP 10.1 final with this table exclusively. So far they only appear to occur after exiting the simulation and restarting it, at least once while VP 10.1 is still open.
I did add my own backdrop .bmp image, but didn’t change anything else. Should I report this to the VP developers? You need to login in order to like this post: click here
June 28, 2016 at 6:16 pm #32587Don’t launch and relaunch the table without restarting editor. Simple as that

June 29, 2016 at 8:37 pm #32664I made a few object size changes and moved one object in particular, and the crashes have stopped.
Anyway that’s good news and I’m loving the speed and intensity of this table. If you want to make it a little easier to play, all you have to do is increase the flipper length and end radius by 1, and raise “Rubber2” (next to the top of the right outlane) a little bit higher. The flipper change forced me to make safer shots more frequently and the outlane rubber probably needed to be a little higher anyway.

June 29, 2016 at 9:08 pm #32666Hee Hee. It’s fun to tweak these in a way where you can get a good score but still feel like you earned it. If I really want to see all the modes, I just block all the drains temporarily.
A very satisfying shot in this table is when the snake ejects the ball out and you can time the left flipper shot where it goes up the right ramp. Whoever at Stern came up with the idea of rock ‘n’ roll as your soundtrack to playing pinball was inspired by pure genius!

June 29, 2016 at 11:18 pm #32686New code came out today. Can we just update by changing the name of the code, or is it more complex than that?

you’re going to have to wait for Arngrim to update the VPM DLL
EDIT: I see Arngrim has retired his SAM VPM DLL updates…. oh goody :(

June 30, 2016 at 12:51 am #32695Wasn’t hmmm… Carny or someone taking over the VPM Sam builds? It’ll be out soon. Then yes all you do is change the ROM name in the script, once you get the newest VPM
Punch it!
