When you setup like his screenshot, are you sure the virtual dmd is not just behind the playfieled somewhere? You can hit the windows tab to see if it is running in the background

 

Yes actually… that damn full screen dmd is there… it just doesn’t interfere like before!

 

So to clarify up to this point, I have the dmd set up as sliderpoint’s attachment, the table runs great. No dmd appears on backglass but the full screen dmd is still there sitting under the playfield.

One thing i have noticed now with the set up the way it is, is that when I launch the table, the full screen dmd flashes on for 1/10th of a second and then its gone completely.

I have just recorded a short video, it is just uploading to youtube so you can see what is happening. I actually deleted all reg entries for the table and it started with the vpinmame options checked for use pin2dmd and unchecked for external dmd that time…… table ran perfectly, but no dmd?… soon as i try to use external dmd, the problems start

Force disable backglass gives the same result = second dmd.

The dmd that I want, on the backglass I am able to move around, the one on the playfield is locked fullscreen.

 

How do I set Vp so it is not exclusive FS?

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah I have the DMD box unchecked. I feel like its a duplicate DMD ya know as I have seen a coloured version of the dmd displayed on the full screen. Like the same one but bigger…. it just does not make sense!?.

Hey guys, Im in desperate need of assistance please. At this point, I have spent around 15 hours trying to get Addams Family to work. I feel like I have fully exhausted all my options so I am pleading for help here for the sake of my own sanity.
anyway, my problem is this:

I launch TAF, be it from the editor, or pinball X… the table loads, I hear the Rom “beep” and then it launches a second DMD window that is full screen on my playfield. At this point all sound from there on is duplicated, so every sound plays twice, the animation at the top right of the table has a ghosting effect as it rotates through its test, all bulbs have a ghost effect. It feels like my PC is being slowed to a halt.
I have tried several versions of the table, including gold, with both “taf_l7” and “tafg_lx3” but the all behave the same.
I use freezys dll for coloured dmd but for this table during debugging I have the coloured option set to off. I have the Vpinmame options set to use external dmd only.

I have created an ini file for DmdDevice which points to the rom name.

I have tried to delete my registry entries in HKEY CURRENT USER- Software -freeware but that does not seem to change anything.
Its like something gets triggered by the script that I cannot find, this happens during the table boot up and always after the playfield and backglass are present.
It feels like the table is being controlled by a hidden agenda and I cannot play one of my all time fave tables.

I will say at this stage I have 60 tables fully configured and working correctly with coloured dmd although I do not claim to be an expert, I am open to any suggestions.

I think the perfect scenario for me would be the 1440p,   75-144hz purely for that silky smooth motion. If you are running a 750ti at 1080p/60hz then I’d hope a 960 would give me the required power. I’ll prob end up getting the 970 though.
