I’m not the best person to talk about this with, but I wanted to reply anyways in case no one more knowledgeable replies. From the little I’ve read, MPF is a framework for developing code for P-ROC with the purpose of being more developer-friendly than pyprocgame, yes? I know of one example of a Visual Pinball table working with pyprocgame, and that’s Cactus Canyon Continued. The original code was modified to work with Visual Pinball, though, but I don’t know how much. Had CCC been developed with VP beta testing in mind, I’m not sure how practical that approach would be.
Assuming it’s not something currently workable in VP, you could head over here and make a feature request. I’ve thought about this, not as much or as specifically as you, but just the idea of making code that works with real and VP tables would be cool.

7,122 tonight. I’ll keep at it. Not sure I totally understand the scoring on this game. What do you get by spelling SEARAY? Edit: Answering my own questions: http://pinball.org/rules/capersville.html
I was actually was looking at that guide earlier, I wanted to know where my 100s were coming from lol.

I really like the 50 game rule idea. I was just thinking I have a considerable advantage this week with all my free time lol. It’s a big number to track mentally, but I’m sure everyone can at least make a tally on their phone or a notepad.
I don’t mind either way regarding the winners not choosing the next table for a month, but I think they should be able to post scores every week like everyone else just for fun. I think I’d actually prefer a sign-up every week for choosing next week’s table, and either the person who picked last or anyone who never picked before would choose the next table, but maybe removing the reward would kill the fun of the competition for some people. I don’t think it would be a problem if @Scotty VH bought t-shirts for every winner forever. :P
I don’t have any ideas of my own at the moment, but I’ll think on it.

There is no doubt very easy to cheat in VP. Some tables it is as easy to edit a text file. I applaud Freelunch for recognizing that on Capersville, it doesn’t really start from scratch in between rounds if there are trapped balls from the previous. What I believe to have noticed is that a few taken a copy of their nvram where the jackpot has been maxed out. I’ve also seen adjustments to F6 options that clearly has an advantage. Stupid settings like – extra ball if you manage to beat your own crappy high-score. Only by posting the new table with very specific rules and urging people to download the exact copy of the table ( provide link ) to it – so, they by accident have made a small adjustment and forgotten about it isn’t a issue will we come closer to fair play.
I agree with the sentiment of leveling the playing field and encouraging fair play, but I’m not so sure people cheat intentionally. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people forget they changed their ROM settings from factory in a game-affecting way, such as installing Add-a-Ball. They may have done it so long ago they forgot they’re not using factory settings. Since I used TPA is a gateway to VP, I was surprised to learn what this “Replay” thing was and why I wasn’t getting more Extra Balls lol. Call me an optimist, but I just don’t think there’s enough prestige in beating a handful of internet friends at a weekly pinball high score if you didn’t really earn it. However, I have not seen all, so perhaps you have have evidence or reasonable suspicion to the contrary.

I’m happy to say I’ve ended my pointless procrastination over ordering a VESA mounted stand so I can rotate my monitor into portrait mode. I cannot wait to drool over your collection of mods, and I look forward to this and your future works!

8,828 for now.
Mutliball with zipping and unzipping flippers is nuts! I’ve been reseting the table if I get ball locks leftover between games. I may look into modding the script to make the table to flush at the end of a game, but I’m probably too lazy.Attachments:

Wow I’ve never played with Zipper Flippers and didn’t know what they were, imagine my surprise when my flippers first zipped! Thanks for giving me a big smile today.

Before this existed, I made this as a table testing technique. Nudging can certainly be abused depending on your calibration! With different hardware input approaches, I’m not sure there is a way to standardize fair nudging. Personally I have no cool toys, so I’m just using the default settings for digital input nudging. I hardly use it, though beyond seeing the ball is headed for the outlane, nudging, and the nudging being too weak to have a chance of altering the ball’s course lol.
I don’t know how VPX determines its tilt sensor for analog nudging, but if there are literal in-game physics-determined parameters that we can leave at default settings, I don’t see a problem. Otherwise, I agree that nudging should be removed as a tactic.

September 17, 2017 at 1:26 pm in reply to: SLAMT1LT has unlocked secrets to Future Pinball's physics #64041To me, the most noticeable issue with BAM physics mods is they haven’t address the vanilla FP problem where shooting closer to the pivot of the flipper gives a significantly weaker shot than the end of the flipper (a lot of authors compensate for this problem by making the flipper ends absurdly strong so you can make center shots easier). I’m highly skeptical this issue was addressed as no recent BAM updates mention broadening the potential of physics mods. I would be delighted to be proven wrong, though! There are a lot of awesome original Future Pinball tables out there that I’ve wished to see with more realistic pinball physics. Maybe I’ll eventually get around to murdering my free time to make a Three Angels FP>VP conversion.

I had this score yesterday, how did I do in the Kiddie tournament? Somehow I got 41M a month or two ago, and this is the best I could do since.
This puts you ahead of me by about 3M, so go ahead an pick our next table!

I don’t remember how the vpforums challenge works, but should no one post better scores in a couple hours, does @Bob Albright or the King of the Kiddie Scores choose the next table (asking as the current King of the Kiddie Scores)? I’m fine either way, just wanna know if I may need to post the next table.

Speaking of brain-hurting flippers, I double flip like a super scrub during Drunk Multiball on Cactus Canyon Continued, at least until I have a chance to cradle a ball.

On my high game, I think I got “scared stiff ” three…maybe four times
Very nice. I’ve made little progress despite putting in more hours. My shots from cradle are fine, but any inlane momentum and I have the coordination of a toddler and start slamming the ball into frogs.

I’ve considered getting an X-Arcade tankstick, but I didn’t even think about adding pinscape inside. This is a nice budget-friendly idea for me.

Hi freelunch, Well like HF said, what are you trying to do? and posting images always helps describing what you are doing.
lol I intended to be more specific, but apparently I forgot to mention what I did before posting. I think I messed with the xyz scale for some reason and that was giving me problems, but I only needed to change the inclination and field of view to get the desired effect of having a higher perspective I wanted. No help needed now. My bad and thanks, the FSS tables I’ve tried so far look amazing.

I notice tweaking the camera POV has some undesirable alignment issues with FSS tables. I’m wondering if you may know if there’s a couple of tweaks I could do to correct this problem, or if the scope of the problem is too big for a POV adjustments?

Yea i see the submission in results page. This is just a proof of concept really. Needs sorting options and leader highlights but just trying things as i get the time. Honestly i think people could just submit a “blog” for each weeks challenge then everyone that plays just posts on that blog. Create blog under your avatar in top nav menu. I could create a category called weekly challenges and then sort them with that. Might be the coolest way to do it really and everyone can post a blog easy enough
I think just posting in the forum like this will be easier for people to find the challenge, if they’re not already aware of it, since recent activity will continually bump this topic.

I haven’t come close to 76M, but I really just want to beat 20M, the default Grand Champion score lol.
