      NOTLD-New-Backglass

I’ve been working on a new alternate backglass for this version of the table with some leftover art from my original table.

Hopefully I will get it done before Halloween.

      NOTLD-New-Backglass-2

      Update: Added proper lighting effects.

RealDMD’s are in each of the downloads for the toppers. The new video is NOT scaled for a RealDMD – but you could use the 1280×390 version that is close to the aspect ratio.

Besides – the RealColorDMD avi – YOU already have … I sent it to you a few weeks ago.

It sound like you have an older Jurassic Park Backglass video still floating around in the folder that PinballX saves the Backglass Videos to. Usually its PinballX/Media/Virtual Pinball X/Backglass Videos – your path might be slightly different.

Do a search in that Backglass Videos folder and REMOVE all the Jurassic Park Backglass videos – move them to your desktop or delete them.

The new backglass file needs to be the same file name as whatever you have the the Description name for the new table, so if your table description is Jurassic Park SM – the backglass video should be named Jurassic Park SM.mp4.

Sometimes when you change the name of a table in PinballX, it will TRY to reconnect the media for it like wheels, backglass, etc. and it doesn’t always work properly and you have to go do this sort of thing manually.

So – go remove all Jurassic Park Backglass videos from the Backglass folder, and then go Re-import the new backglass in the game manager. PinballX will automatically rename the backglass when it imports it – but just in case, rename it to Jurassic Park SM.mp4 anyway.

Loaded up this table last night for the first time … looks and plays great.

Immediately added to my “favorites” list

              Thank you to all involved.

                Mike,

I think there is a setting in the ‘script’ for the table that you can change how DOF registers (ie: by not using the b2s).

I haven’t had this problem with ANY of the tables I’ve made “video” backglass versions for.

                I will check later today.

Unfortunately, I don’t use popper as a front end, so I don’t know how to advise as to how to get it to work.

BUT, that being said, I know it can be done because I have got messages and emails from popper users that got them working fairly easily.

I was wondering why the file was from 2017 … Thanks for clarifying Thalamus.

Maybe there will be a 1.04 (or higher) someday.

Open game manager, and the listing where you have the table loaded, use the ‘Import’ pull down and select Backglass, and import it. Then under the Table name / description, make sure ‘Hide Backglass’ is UNCHECKED. Make sure in your tables folder you have NO directb2s (backglass file) listed as the same name as the table.

                        That’s all.

Just played your Iron Man mod for about an hour. Terrific job on it.

Does it only work with the Vault Editon II rom?

                                Nice work, man!

Gonna have to go make a special animated backglass for this one, now.

The Spider-Man one was a “Classic” comic mod, but not sure what the “style” can be labeled for for this one?

It’s still the “modern style” Iron Man, right?

                                Please advise.

                                  @Marie,

Check the table options when loading the table into VPX – make sure all the settings on the top section of the pop up panel are all set to Default as well.

170h rom works well – but 180h (and hc) fixes the music / sound cuttoff when the ball drains and some other issues.

Definitely one of my favorite tables.

                                    @@Marie,

I was having the same ball stutter problem in my cab with the premium – and I have a pretty high end PC and graphics card.  It turns out it was a massive backglass file was affecting the play. Originally I RIGHT-CLICKED on the backglass and increased the skip frames of the Solenoids and Lamps to I think 5 or 6 on the previous backglass and it fixed the problem.

I also made sure all the setting for the Table were set to ‘Default’ in the table settings because I think the release version had a high sampling and something else set very high … It was so bad that when the ball hit the ramps or the electric chair character – it would freeze on the screen.

I assure you the 1.6 release of the table – the newer 180H rom and using this streamlined backglass ‘should’ reduce the stutter to practically nothing. Hence why I didn’t tie any of the lights on the b2s to the solenoids and lamps / rom on the table.

The MP4 video version I included plays smooth as silk as well and the lighting is nicer and more active as well … try that version too.

The “Authentic” versions (not the Fantasy version) of each b2s have practically NO CPU load at all – because they just turn on – and that’s it.
