I think I found a solution…
While the following did NOT help..
START “” “[STARTDIR]Launch\VPXSTARTER.exe” 10 25 60 “Visual Pinball Player” 2
This did:
START “” “[STARTDIR]Launch\VPXSTARTER.exe” 30 15 60 “Visual Pinball Player” 3 0 5
Any documentation as to what these numbers are after???

Maybe Force Full Screen isn’t going to work for me after all… The videos in the pup pack on STSE end up really really choppy when it’s enabled.
I turn off the force full screen and the videos are smooth again. But when loading the table with pinup popper I lose focus most of the time. So weird.

If you plan to update this table @scottywic – maybe add a mechanical tilt ?
hmm not sure i know what that is or how to do. What game has that that isn’t rom?
seems you have mapped a button to one of my testing keys and are going right into wizard mode… hahah sorry not really how you want that to happen. you can seach the script for testing keys and then comment it out. I’ll try to get that removed on the upcoming Scoreboard edition
I did finally figure out what it was…
if keycode = "3" then
lm1.State = 1
lm2.State = 1
lm3.State = 1
lm5.State = 1
CheckMONSTER
barbcompleted(CurrentPlayer) = 1
badmensuper(CurrentPlayer) = 1
partydone(CurrentPlayer) = 1
willcompleted(CurrentPlayer) = 1
' skipscene
End IfIf I comment that out, everything is good.
What threw me off is that my start button is mapped to my 1 or 2 key I believe, not 3…
Oh well… found it and fixed it. I had to reset my scores as they were no longer official after a few games starting in that mode.

So here’s my predicament…
Should I try and run all of the games the same, turn off the ddraw in the registry and run all games in exclusive full screen?
I don’t even remember why I enabled the ddraw stuff in the first place, my guess is it was to reduce the lag.
If I have the exclusive full screen I get an error with pretty much every other table complaining about a rom… Unchecked I don’t have any errors, but STSE doesn’t have focus after loading and I can’t play it until I use the mouse and click it for focus.
Or is there a way to flip both this exclusive full screen and the ddraw registry for this game (STSE) only, then flip it back for the other tables?

I’ve got this same problem. Exclusive mode works, but it breaks every other table with a “terminated before initialized check the rom path or rom file” problem. I think that’s related to a registry setting for ddraw, but I’m not sure. Any more ideas how to get focus back?
This is only affecting the STSE table for me.

It’s a digital input… would put the game into tilt mode if the circuit is closed.

I spent a few minutes looking at the script, seems doable.

Something changed for me and the game plays extremely different now.
I spend a bunch of time upgrading my machine, 4k screen, added a dmd monitor. I changed from using a joystick input, to using the pinscape board for the button inputs. I also changed to having a plunger (10k pot) hooked up to the pinscape board…
What’s weird is that the first time playing STSE since the hardware upgrade, Eleven grabbed the ball and I went into multiball almost immediately. Before I upgraded my cabinet to 4k and changed input methods I had never ever ever (in a 175 games) saw Eleven grab the ball (which gives me a ton of score by the way)… I thought this was a fluke, but subsequent games, are the same… It seems like every game starts this way now.
Do you think this might have something to do with the inputs, possibly using the real plunger instead of the launch ball button? (maybe a skill shot?)

Ahhh.. That makes a lot more sense. I’ll look through and see what I was pressing…
I don’t think you should take that stuff out, probably just setup a debug flag to turn those on and off.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

September 17, 2019 at 11:54 am in reply to: Using Alexa to Stop/Start and Reboot Your Pinball Cabinet #145379If you didn’t know, the upcoming 1.4 update to Pinup Popper will support Google Voice control. (Sorry no Alexa support). It’s very cool!
Is there any chance that Alexa “might” ever be supported?

I had the ball stuck problem too… I have the physical EM of Fun-Fest if you need any pictures or scans for any reason.
I also tried to time the speed of the moving target, and had to set the timer’s interval to match. Mine moves much faster in real life.
Great table! It’s pretty neat to compare the game play vs a real table. I’ll try and get some more feedback in the next few weeks getting a chance to play on them side by side.
