Thanks xenonph. My rom settings are identical to yours except that I’m running in cabinet mode so that is checked. I’m thinking it must be some minor setting somewhere, but this is really strange.
I would think other Bally tables would have this issue, but this is the only one.

February 22, 2018 at 12:06 am #77507if you don’t here the melody at table load its probably because you have Chime sounds disabled in your DOF config file
the vp9
http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=3692
table does not have a DOF call for the Chime sounds
UW table
SolCallback(2) = “vpmSolSound “”BELL10″”,”
SolCallback(3) = “vpmSolSound “”BELL100″”,”
SolCallback(4) = “vpmSolSound “”BELL1000″”,”
SolCallback(5) = “vpmSolSound “”BellLow””,”
my table
SolCallback(2) = “vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”Bell10″”,DOFKnocker),”
SolCallback(3) = “vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”Bell100″”,DOFKnocker),”
SolCallback(4) = “vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”Bell1000″”,DOFKnocker),”
SolCallback(5) = “vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”Bell10000″”,DOFKnocker),”try changing my code to match UW code to see if you can get them to play
now that I see my post I realized the code is bad it should be DOFCHimes NOT DOFknocker

February 22, 2018 at 12:22 am #77512EDIT: Looks like 32assassin uploaded fixed version.
Not sure if this will help, or if you have tried what Thalamus asked you.
Highlight the bell sounds in the sound manager and click “Toggle BG Out”.
This will change output to your backglass. Worth a try.

February 23, 2018 at 3:53 pm #77734Thanks for all the help guys.
32A, your new version with DOF calls fixed my issue. I can now hear all the chimes and melodies in this classic table.
Thanks again for all that you do for the community. This is another example of a table I never would have had the chance to play in the wild. Now I can, thanks to you and the VP community!
Have a great weekend!

March 8, 2018 at 10:57 am #78836Thanks for the great table , one of my favorites. Â Quick observation the rollovers (10 stars) appear to have a hard time activating when hit head on , but from the sides or the ball rolling from top to bottom seems to activate them more consistently. Â Was just curious if anyone can confirm if there is a particular way to go about getting a strike.

March 8, 2018 at 2:16 pm #78856I’ve seen the same. Don’t know how to fix it though. I just accept and play on. But, yes I’ve been swearing at the rollovers more than once.

March 8, 2018 at 4:31 pm #78871Thanks Thalamas, Â just for kicks I changed the switch shape to triggerwireA and it played very well hitting from all angles. Â Would there be anything different from the star switch?

June 3, 2018 at 11:17 pm #87369Thanks for a fantastic recreation of one of my favorite Bally tables! One small request… can you add the “game start” chimes as heard in this video? https://youtu.be/btgEaXy_qRE?t=13s. I can provide an audio recording if one is needed. Thanks!

June 3, 2018 at 11:22 pm #87371I thought that sound is just a matter of chaning dip switches ? Have you pressed F6 ? No access here to any VP for validation.

June 3, 2018 at 11:31 pm #87380Press F6 when game is open and check off “melody option” box. Hit OK and then F3 to restart the table.

June 4, 2018 at 12:24 am #87384YES! Pressing F6 and enabling the melody fixed it! I’m still a VP newb but learning new things every day. Thanks for your help!

June 4, 2018 at 12:36 am #87385The dip switches are a go to place to check if you’re looking to enable or change something. Some tables also have an options menu that can be accessed by holding one of the flipper keys while the table is open.

November 11, 2020 at 6:28 pm #209941@retrovision : Sounds like all you want is to go to sound manager and using the volume slider for the samples you think is too loud.

November 12, 2020 at 9:14 am #210005From VPX main settings ? I’m afraid if I do that, I will change the playfield sound for ALL my tables ?
Is there a way to change the volume of the table but just this one ?
Also, I noticed that the back glass sound is merged onto playfield channel, there is no separation, any idea ?You need to login in order to like this post: click here
November 12, 2020 at 10:37 am #210022@retrovision : No, if you open the table, and go to the menu, sound manager. You are seeing a list of samples that is related to the loaded table. NOT something global. We all have different computer and there is a lot of different authors too. So, it almost certain that you at some point will find tables where you need to adjust sound samples to your preferences. Seems you found yours. You have to find the samples though. Mark one, press play, if you find it – go to “position” button ( yes I know – its name is a bit confusing ), but here you can change its position and also its volume.
Remember to save table, and if you move the sound from table to background, well, then you need to save, exit and reload. Call it a known bug.
