Having learned a lot about VPX coding, and Blender, since I made The Clash, I decided to make it closer to what I wanted it to be. Since the ROM already exists in SamBuild, I decided to keep it and use the existing rule set from Rock Encore.

Here’s some of the Blender work and game redesign. I always thought that middle lane with the chasing lights should have been a ramp and the game missed some extra action. So I added three small bumpers behind the raised ramp. And a Brixton kicker to the left of the top drop targets, that shoots the ball out and across the top of the PF to the rollover lanes. A solution to the idea of a loop shot has eluded me, perhaps a triggered gate somewhere.

With the addition of the Hammersmith Palais marquee, I will be adding a few songs to the line up. The hot pink amp/speaker was modeled after one they used, I have work on the side handle texture.

BTW, the HP marquee was changed several times over the years and very difficult to find a pic of it in the late 70s when Joe Strummer went to a reggae concert that inspired the song. (the poster of that concert will be added to the table art). At some point after 1968, this modern stainless steel one went up. And by the mid 90s a black and white logo was being used on the stainless. I found one picture that appeared to be from the 1980s that had it looking like I’ve modeled here. So I went with that, thinking the stainless probably went up during the disco era to make it look modern.

      More to come.

This is awesome, Onevox.  I love your Clash table and really appreciate all of the attention to detail and custom work.  I’ll be watching this thread.

            No siren change!

Thank you, @flupper, for the ramp tutorial.

Getting there but don’t understand why my bumper caps don’t show up underneath? I’ve tried raising the ramp prim height, and lowering the bumber height. Maybe not enough. I thought I had plenty of clearance under the ramp…

btw: i want to add a little more opaque and I need to fix the ramp entrance angle a little. So, hopefully #4 will be the one.

I think that is a depth bias problem. Change the depth bias of the ramp to +1000 or -1000 (or bigger numbers), see if that helps.

Brilliant! It took a depth bias of -300. Thank you, flupper.

Hmm…what to do with those bumpers. “know your rights! all three of them!”

Or make the caps look like records with different labels.

Woke up and realized that a full plastic ramp that I original created would be difficult to manufacture. So I came up with this idea. Can’t decide between chrome or black on the wire ramp.

Modeled a few simple Clash buttons for plastics or apron, and a spike for a screw cap. Need to rethink plastic art, if I use the spike. Thoughts?

The black is cool but disappears among the playfield colors, it would be a shame to hide it. I prefer the classic and more prominent look of the chrome, plus it blends better with your new (and super awesome) plastic ramp. Great job on this BTW :good:

@philippe. Permission to use some of your wire ramp parts from BK2K?

I was studying your primitive for wire thickness in relation to ball size, and loved your “welding”  on the 3/4 rings. My end result here.

Yes, of course! Glad you like them, spent a whole lot of time on the welding part years back. In the current version of blender I would do that with the remesh modifier, but that did not exist back then in this form.
