No luck, still freezing . I uninstalled VPX and reinstalled , worked fine. Turn off computer and rebooted it and VPX is loading but freezes once the table comes up.

So I downloaded an EM pinball since they don’t require ROMS and it worked fine, so I think my set up is correct.

I tried to load a different table, South Park. I don’t get any error messages but I still am not able to play the game. The tilt buttons and plunger work but nothing else. I followed a set up video on youtube so set up vpx. Am I not setting something up correctly?

Looks like my search continues. The MSI card for $200 appears to have been sold. Arrange to meet with the seller on monday because they aren’t available this weekend but I just to the add and it shows sold, that sucks. Oh well

Just want to get your opinions on two cards. So I can get a new Msi Gtx 1660 ventus 6gb OC for $200 locally or a Zotac gtx 1070 8 GB mini currently at $220 bid locally . I know the 1660 is newer and will have more support . Is MSI better than Zotac ? Is the performance difference between the 1660 and 1070 significant or am I better going with the 1660 for $200.

GTX 1660 in Canada new on Amazon are about $330-$350. Found a used one but the seller said it has never been used and is asking $250, hoping I can get for $225.

Looks like the deal for the 1660 isn’t going to workout , so my search continues. Thalamus, you mentioned a gtx980i, is that comparable to the 1070 or 1660? Found one at a decent price . I know I said I’d steer clear of the 980 but is the 980i worth or should I keep my search to a 1660 or 1070?

Does the warranty still apply if I didn’t buy it from a store? The guy said it’s new and that it was a display unit from a store .

So I found a ZOTAC GAMING GEFORCE GTX1660 SUPER and the person said I can have it for $250. Are Zotac decent cards , I assume it will work fine for my needs .

OK, thanks Thalamus. I appreciate all the information you have provided to my questions. I am new to all this, I understand now that I am better off to spend a bit more to get a card that will work properly.

Ok,sounds good. Thank you chucky87. I found a website which compares the two and the gaming x is marginally better but I am hoping I can get the 1660 ventus for $225 which I can live with.

Found another 1660 locally Msi ventus gaming x ,asking $290, Looking at the specs, it looks like the 1660 TX 1660 VENTUS XS 6G OC is better though because it has more FPS. Am I correct on that?

Ok, I’ll start looking for one of those. I have located a few gtx 1070’s locally which might fall within what I can afford. Just waiting to hear back from the sellers. I assume the Gtx 1070 is better than the 1660 super or are they pretty equal?
