Thanks again for the advice randr. I have grabbed roms from ipdb in the past – I guess I just assumed that our visual pinball sites also had valid rom files in all cases. I will follow your lead in the future and grab all roms from ipdb – a good practice indeed. Unfortunately their rom is a different size than the other two I grabbed and still its not recognized as valid… All I can do is laugh! It must be something simple…

Thanks randr for the suggestion. I have unchecked force exclusive fullscreen mode. I also changed regedit ddraw to 0 instead of the 1 value it was originally recognizing. I am wonderin which rom is the one that I should use – the smaller file size or larger…?? Once again Im tryin to use it in desktop mode if that is helpful info.

Reloaded a fresh version of the taf_l7 rom and the game will still not load. Getting the invalid rom message even though the pinmame32 program recognizes it as valid. Im a bit confused though because I’ve come across two different versions of the rom so far. The one hosted here on the vpinball site is smaller than the one hosted on the vpforum site. Is it possible they are both bad and the right one is hosted elsewhere…? Thanks for any help in advance.

I’m playing in desktop mode. Maybe there is a script change that I need to make…?

Thank you for your suggestion randr, but I did try that as well without any change. I downloaded the rom again just to make sure my original wasn’t corrupted in some way. I’m not brand new to this “hobby”/obsession. I’ve been enjoying visual pinball tables for quite some time now and that’s why I’m so frustrated. I don’t know what I’m missing… Like everyone else, I’ve so been waiting for this table to be released and here I am still standing on the sideline. Ugh. I will entertain all suggestions. Thanks much.

I know I’m overlooking something in my haste to start playing this beautiful table, but I keep getting rom (“taf_l7”) error. I’ve checked rom contents and they match what should be there after testing it. but keeps telling me it is invalid. And yes, I have just installed the latest beta (3653). Any ideas?

I’m a fan of the band as well and I can’t wait to try out your table. As far as the color of the playfield – khaki seems like “business casual” and not “HEAVY METAL !!!’ to me. No offense though, please keep up the great work. I agree with Thalamus, playfield design is very important, it’s a key part of game creation and definately not an easy thing to do. I guess its all about how you feel when you’re playing it, as much as, how it plays. I vote for lots of black and silver, but keep the use of whips, chains and leather to a minimum – Hah!!!   :good:

p.s. – I like the idea of incorporating the “Metal Heart” art into the mix as well.
