PinUPDsiplay Has Stop Working

Hi,

I am constantly having Popper crash on me. It happens a lot when I try and launch a table. I get a PinUPDisplay has stop working. Any Ideas?

Are these Stern SAM tables?  If so, you may need to change the at91jit setting in the registry for those tables that crash.

After I installed the front end I also had to change this at91jit setting! So perhaps that’s the issue if they are same tables.

I am confused why VpinMame would mess up popper. I have no trouble playing the tables from vp.

Maybe make sure the main frontend exe is set to run as admin maybe that’s the issue?

The nature of the bug in VPinmame has something to do with memory usage patterns.   It’s FAR more prevalent in Win7 than Win10.  Unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce the issue to fix it on any of my win7 systems.    The best available solution at the moment is to upgrade to Win10.

After doing some more testing, it only seems to crash when launching PinballFX tables. I doubt it has something to do with VPinMame.

Ah! Well correct it would not be vpinmame. But maybe due to what version of fx you have. Steam version? Non steam? Fx2? Fx3?

It is the steam version of FX3. I think it has something to do with DOFLINX

So it happens with DOFLINX off so its not that. Kind of odd. It crashes the first time Popper is open. Once it crashes and I go back into it, it doesn’t crash.

if it happens only with FX try and change from exclusive to windowed mode (or vice-versa) in FX and see if you still have the problem….

Make sure DOFLinx is the newest version, as the older version may crash because of newer FX3 updates.

I finally got back into it. Setting Pinball FX3 to borderless window seemed to work. Any ideas? I would like to run full screen for performance.
