I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but do you still need roms and B2s files for VPX tables

Sorry I have one more question, when someone uploads a table why don’t they upload the whole package of files the table requires to work?

Surely if this was the rules people could spend more time playing pinball than looking for matching files.

ROMs definitely, but if you’re a desktop user (only using one screen), you can disable b2s from Preferences > Keys, Nudge, and DOF > Disable B2S

Sometimes a b2s is made by a different person than the person making the table. Tables are designed to work with ROMs, but the practice of ROM distribution is a legal gray area. No ROMs are hosted here, you might get them at vpuniverse.com vpforums.org monsterbashpincab.com

because people like to respect other peoples work.

a table author does not always make a db2s file for his table.

only way I would include a db2s file I did not make I would need to ask the db2s author for permission to include it.

but like you I’m lazy and I will never take the time to go and ask  or include a db2s file with my table, even if someone gives me permission to do it.

besides their are usually multiple versions of the same db2s;   you are better of picking the one that looks best to you.

 

and you can download the majority of PINMAME roms (does not include stern roms)  in one torrent if you know where to look.  I don’t even have mine backed up because I know that I can replace them all in less then 5 min.  I do have all my stern roms backed up, because more then a few have been patched.

Thanx Guys you been a great help I appreciate you giving your time.

I can see this is going to be a long process and a huge learning curve to get a functioning pinball machine going.

The hardware I can do but all this software stuff leaves me dizzy
