ry it not set to
Thanks, no it isn’t. Though I already tried it to see if it made a difference.

October 26, 2018 at 10:11 pm in reply to: PinUP System (Player and Popper Front-End) Install #101773I am having trouble getting the pinup system to work properly. I am running windows 10 64 bit OS. I followed the install instructions, installed VLC first ( I have tested with versions 2.08 and 2.28 both), then installed the pinup system 1.36 final and the 1.37 pinupdisplay update and ran the video setup. All windows are displaying as expected at that point.
I then ran the pinup test app and check both VLC and then pinup display. No problems here.
I have Stranger Things SE 3.39 installed and copied the folder to the pupvideos folder. When I launch Stranger Things the table, DMD, and Backglass video load just fine. But when the backglass video reaches the end of the first loop Pinup Display stops responding and the video freezes.
I also have Clue installed and put the clue popup video folder in the pupvideos folder. When I launch Clue the table runs fine but the backglass does not load at all.
I could really use some assistance getting this sorted out.
Thanks!

I finally got started building the main cabinet – Here’s where I am right now. I used a router to rout a channel on both sides of the cabinet for the monitor to slide in from the back.

I managed to resolve the problem. I have multiple physical output ports using the same logical output signal. I realized how to map them properly and that I needed to restart doflinx after changes were made to the ini file.

I definitely let the smoke out on this one, I saw the little puff, pulled the plug, and said “shit”. ‘Bout all I could do.

I redesigned my vacuum tube lighting system to put out a lot more light and to run using the DOF undercab lighting outputs. I had everything working and looking awesome and then inadvertently shorted out the pacled64 board and fried it… grrr… I hate when that0 stuff happens. Now I have no lights at all until I order a new pacled64. I know better than to let things like that happen but I guess we all make mistakes… still… grrrrrrr.

You need a simple $2.00 with ledwiz that is correct if you are using solenoids or a motor. I use cantactors for flippers and pop bumpers so no relay needed but I use a simple relay for knocker, gear motor, chime unit etc with ledwiz
Sorry I think there might be a word missing in your reply after “$2.00”. I’m not certain what you are referring to.

OK, I didn’t realize ledwiz could work as a relay for 12V solenoids. I currently have a pacled64 driving my button led’s, can it serve the same function with solenoids too?
Edit- I did some research and it looks like the answer is no.
I see the Ledwiz provides 500ma 5V output per channel, so I assume I would need a power booster for solenoids? I guess I am just asking exactly what I need to buy to drive the solenoids if I use a Ledwiz.

I do not think it does actually
OK thanks, looks like I will need to go with the 8 port one then. Unless you guys have a better recommendation.

I’ve bought Ghostbusters three 4 times over now (Switch SPA, Steam TPA, Kindle TPA, PS4 TPA). And bought Process Lasso to get it running smoothly on my cabinet. I got into VPX tables just after this table got yanked and am kind of bummed I can’t get my hands on it to play the superior version of it. Oh well. Someone PM me if you run across it in the wild.
I’m in the same boat. I got started with VP right after this was pulled. I’ve been kicking myself since =P

September 6, 2018 at 7:14 pm in reply to: Tales of the Arabian Nights (Williams 1996) Skitso's Detail MOD #97477Thanks for the new version and the left orb fix
But I noticed the left orb light was not active yet, I found the problem, it’s just a missing line in the script.
Line 901:
NFadeL 86, 186
NFadeL 88, 188
Change to:
NFadeL 86, 186
NFadeL 87, 187
NFadeL 88, 188
Thats all.
I’m getting an “object required ‘187’ error when I add this line.
Update – my fault, I must have had an invisible character embedded in the line of code somewhere, fixed it.

I updated the D-pad with a bigger round button rather than the square one I had. This button is my launch button for tables that don’t use the shooter. I’ll get some nice brass screws to use on the actual cabinet.

Here’s my test rig set up with the finished backbox I also cut the plastic handle on the shooter rod off, tapped the rod and attached a brass knob that matches the one on the coin door I built.

the machine brushed looks cool…
I dont know about other programs you might play on this but VP, FP, FX2/3 these all cant run right from your frontend…. no special buttons needed
Unless you want to change settings, or if you quit a game without finishing it and then launch it again later. Then you need to use arrow keys to navigate the options. I’m running primarily VP, but I also have a lot of Pinball FX3 tables as well as Pro Pinball and Pinball Wicked.

During testing with the mock-up cabinet I concluded that I need some sort of D-pad for menu navigation in other apps like Pinball FX3. So I started with a heavy sheet of brass and made this. The buttons are 1/2″ square on the part you press. The disc is about 3.5″ in diameter. I will mount this on the lockdown bar at the right side above the ball launcher… or maybe in the center where the transparent button is now… not sure yet.

I expect you want more rounded edges after a while. Except for that.
This is just a test for button positions etc. I did round the corners on the lock-down bar but I’m not concerned with the rest until I build the full cabinet.

My ball launcher board from Zeb’s boards and my parts from Pinballlife arrived so I just built a mock-up of the top front of the full sized cabinet to test my button locations and to have something to use on my desk until I can afford the playfield monitor.
Here are a couple photos of my my mock-up I built from scrap plywood.

That Tesla ball on the center of the backbox is an amazing touch. I would be absolutely the first person in line to buy one of these if they were for sale.
If you are really interested in having a setup like mine I would be willing to build one for you. It may take a a bit of time to souce some of the unique parts but I should be able to manage it.
