April 4, 2017 at 11:51 am in reply to: MoonWalking Dead Pinball Machine featuring Michael Jackson #51746Does anyone have a working link to the Moon Walking Dead rom? Jesperpark’s link is dead.
Here is my take on the MoonWalking dead. Changed the rom music https://www.dropbox.com/s/4i0ptstnhl4bwye/TWD_156.zip?dl=0 Used Pinball browser to modify Milhouse’s version of TWD156.

We are flying down from Minneapolis to attend. We went last year and it was a blast. Looking forward to next week. Are you on Pinside? There is usually a meet-n-greet for Pinsiders at the bar across the street from Embassy Suites.

February 28, 2017 at 10:39 pm in reply to: Lesser Known Features: Cool stuff! More questions from a newbie… #49417Thanks for responding. As a newbie, I need more content in the response to most of these to understand. IE: What is a “configuration” or controller setting?
I can answer these: What do the text files do/save in my “..\Visual Pinball\user” folder? This is where any configuration is saved for each VP table or controller settings
Again, I don’t understand the response. What type of info is saved here. FYI, there is current content in each of these folders I’m asking questions about. So they are being used, I just want to know what they do. Would this be things like FREE PLAY, 10 Character High Score and etc?
What do the cfg files do/save in my “..VPinMame\cfg” folder? I assume these are Vpinmame settings saved for each ROM
Again, live content being saved in this folder. Interested to know what the content does, what info it is saving.
What do the prt files do/save in my “..VPinMame\memcard” folder Ive never seen this actually used in pinmame but in mame i see it used a lot so not sure
So nvram would be FREE PLAY and 10 Character High Score? Or some other piece of the ROM settings?
What do the nv files do/save in my “..\VPinMame\nvram” folder? This is where actual ROM settings are saved for each ROM so its like what the batteries are for in real pinballs to remember 3 or 5 ball, high scores, and any other settings you change in the rom.
I’m guessing this is where B2S saves the backglass/dmd configuration of each game. I have a two display setup with the backglass and dmd displaying on the same monitor. I hide the speaker grill and make the dmd visible, whenever possible. In my setup, the second display is very small so the DMD sits in front of the backglass art somewhat crowding it out.
What does the B2STableSettings.xml file do/save? In that file; what does the #2 mean for DefaultStartMode? 2 means mech sounds and DOF both i think i would need to actually look. Im the worse at explaining anything so hope im 55% right

Error message on latest builds. Anybody else getting this? Table worked fine before. Installed a newer version from VPU. Now both the the new and old build display an error code on the DMD when initializing rom “st_161h”.

February 24, 2017 at 9:52 am in reply to: Louisville KY Pinball expo – Whos going? – Need resource pictures? #49116Looks like dbrecords did some work on the game. High quality pics of a rear game are always a good thing. Maybe new high resolution assets could jump start a VPX build. Here’s hoping wrd can get some quality pics of Global Warfare.

February 20, 2017 at 10:55 am in reply to: Austin Powers (Stern 2001) HR FS VP9.9.0 Rev 1.1 PhysMod #48792Was this release actually updated to Rev 1.1? All I can find is PM5 Rev 1.0 on VPF and VPU.
The flippers don’t seem quite right on this release. Was hoping Rev 1.1 might have been a good update.

Cool, so if I have some base settings I like to start with I can just import the xml file to get started any time a table doesn’t look right?
EDIT: Didn’t think to open the xml file and view it. Sweet! Thank you Drybonz.
The purpose is to make setting the POV settings easier for you.

Sorry, but what does that mean? When I pull up the game, it is 90 degree’s off. When this happens I normally just go into VIEW and select OPTIONS plus BACKGLASS VIEW, change XY ROTATION to 270, then run in CAMERA MODE and fine tune. Is there something else I can do with the provided xml file?
Something I have never seen before, and do not know what setting to change in Camera Mode; the table looks like I am viewing it through a fish eye lens. The upper portion of playfield has a lot of Layback. The bottom portion of the table has negative Layback, as in I can see the top side (as in the surface the ball hits) of the flippers. Get it, the Fish Eye reference? What Camera setting changes that?
Peoples setups are different so you Can import the settings in as table is upped with authors setup glad he includes it

How do I pull up the “VPinMame game settings” menu?
Now, in the VPinMAME game settings for the rom. Set the value of Sound Mode to 2.

ColorDMD is a color LCD option for real pinball machines. Would be sweet to see the effort put forth to colorize ColorDMD make it over to VP cabs.

Is there a process for uploading files to share? Why does this upload not look the same as others who have uploaded files to share?

I’m running all EXE’s from the same folder. The \visual pinball\scripts folder is empty. I’ll move the scripts into the scripts folder, clean things up and see how things run.
Thanks for the help randr!

I’m interested to hear more on the “Scripts” comment raised above. Where is the correct location for the “.vbs” script files. I’ve heard some people say to put them in a scripts folder, not sure where that should be. My “.vbs” scripts currently reside in my tables directories. My method is a bit repetitive though as I have separate TABLES folders for VP9, PhysMod5 and VPX.
