That would be an excellent find! There is a button in the real table behind the coin door that does that! Tod from TNT Amusements said in a video, that it’s not even in the manual.

I think he ment the “Fastest Flip To Date” on the PF display.

Go to your nvram folder and delete the Vector nvram. It has the same name as your rom.

              Better late then never!

I finally had time to install some tables after finishing my last project. Haven’t installed a table in 3 months! This one was the first i wanted to have a look at and boy, what a gem! Excellent eye for detail and realism! One of the best tables out there! I really like the scripted Day/Night slider. Works like a charme.

              Thanks to all involved!

Hi guys, I gave it several plays, it def gets my seal of approval. The vector I owned was in decent shape but this is like playing a brand new pin. Great job on the lights and the overall aesthetics but the win here is in the playability. Now it’s only been about 10 games of testing but no bugs so far found and everything seems to be working ok. I love hitting the loop and this may be where so far I’m seeing a slight difference with the real pin as I think my time through the loop was much quicker. I’ve taken pics of the playfield of my pin so my loop time should be indicated (or googling it may provide some comparisons of expected times). In saying that, remember I’m 54 so my memory is probably not the best LOL. Awesome job Sindbad and Schreibi34, fantastic collaboration hope to see more from the “dynamic duo” team! I’ll play some more when I get back this evening and will provide more comments later. Thanks for this gift to the community, Vector is an underappreciated gem of a pin. Enjoy all!

Great to hear that it plays well! Thanks!

I watched a lot of gameplay videos and the “Highest Flip Speed To Date” was mostly between 750 and 780 on those tables. My highest Flip Speed was 795 on the VP table and i only came close to this once. The 795 come off a perfect voley shot with perfect entry into the ramp. This was like 1 on, 2 out in the bottom of the nineth, Fastball right down the pipe and i took a monster hack for a Home Run over the left field wall, upper deck! Thats how it felt! With regular clean shots i end up with a score of about 750. In the dip switch menu you can set the “Lite Special And Extra Ball” to a Flip Speed over 800. I think that one shot should have cracked that mark. This shot should have been somewhere around  805.

I can control the Flip Speed score via the friction of the upper metal rail (Wall86). Right now it’s set to 0,28 so there is some room for adjusting.

Let me know what you found and i’ll bring an update for this.

Really awesome job by all the other guys who were part of this.

v1.1 should be out in about an hour. Thanks for the feedback:

                        – left spinner had the wrong switch number. Now the orbit thing is working again. Thanks to kirkin2006, nice find.
                        – changed kickercup to kickercup2 with the correct material. Thanks hauntfreaks
                        – liftet the layer 4 lights to hight 28 as suggested by hauntfreaks
                        – the ball coming down from the upper right lane (orbit shot) is dangerous! Take a look at this video at the 6:28 and the 6:55 min. mark.

                        – more bounce to the rubbers (thanks Thalamus) and flippers. Check the video and you will see what i mean.
                        – lowered the flipper force. Clean shots have way to much power. Don’t worry, i keep it a bit faster as in the gameplayvideo!

What happens on the original ? That is what we should try to reproduce. I guess I have to look this table up a bit myself. I was surprised to see how little bounce the flippers currently is set to.

If i add more bounce to the flippers i have to lower the force to something ike 1500. The table already plays a bit faster then what i saw in videos.

If you have a good solution let me know  :good:

Or is the problem when the ball doesn’t make it through the gate and rolls back down the left lane? I left that in to punish the weak shot. Doesen’t happen too often.

It depends on the speed of the ball!

The fast clean shots are dangerous. Maybe too dangerous. If i adjust the right upper rail more towards the right flipper, the slower balls will bounce of the top of the right slingshot. Maybe thats the better solution.

I checked the table and i found a few bugs that i fixed. Something blocked the left lane towards the parlay playfield vertical kicker. It took me about an hour to find out that changeing the surface from “Ramp733” to “NONE” for gate sw10 was the problem.   I entered the hight value by hand.

I changed the small rubbers above the outlanes to non collideable. They were way to effective and the table played to easy. Added invisible / collideable rubbers and moved those a bit out of the way. This shouldn’t be noticeable while playing.

As far as i have understood this, the digital sounds and the chime sounds have never been on the same cab at the same time. The chimes were a replacement for the sound board. As you can see above all dip switches are in the F6 menu. I was only able to switch to the “angry” sounds (sounds/tones).

If you only want to use chime sounds, leave everything as it is, start the table, hit F1 and uncheck “Use sounds”, restart the rom.

If you only want the digital sounds i have a quick solution. I know that 32a will beat the shit out of me when he sees this! This is what i would call the worst abuse of fine code……… EVER! But it will enable you to play this one with digital sounds until 32assassin joins the party and shows the german scripting Jerry Lewis how the big boys do it! :mail:

                                      Replace line 30-32 by this:

                                      SolCallback(3)=”vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”””, DOFChimes),”
                                      SolCallback(4)=”vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”””, DOFChimes),”
                                      SolCallback(5)=”vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”””, DOFChimes),”

                                      I can’t believe i’m doing this.  Mr. C64 Basic v2.0 in it’s full glory!

                                        From pinrepair:

DIP 1-8=all off (one coin, one credit). Another common setting is to make switches 1=on (and sw 2-8=off) for 1 coin 9 credits.
                                        DIP 9=on (three balls/game, off=5 balls/game).
                                        DIP 10=on (match feature on).
DIP 11=on (replay instead of extra ball, off=extra ball).
DIP 12=on (tilt kills current ball only, off=tilt kills game).
DIP 13=on (show number of credits).
DIP 14=on (play a tune when game started).
                                        DIP 15,16 not used.
                                        DIP 17,18=on (maximum credits 15).
DIP 19=on (make coin chute 1 & 2 the same coin value, important to be “on” if using the 1 coin 9 credit option).
                                        DIP 20=on (chimes/tones when scoring).
DIP 21=on (show high score to date).
DIP 22=on (award 3 credits when high score beat).
DIP 23=on (play a tune when money inserted).
                                        DIP 24 not used.

This is what a guy named shimoda wrote on pinside:

“The score sounds are still run by three solenoid transistors on the driver board. They are probably marked on the driver board pic if it is still in the backbox. I say chime because even though this was a second generation sound game, you could still put chimes in it. It was a common fix for when the sound board went out and like the motherboard the processor chip for the sound board was unavailable. My hulk had chimes in it.”

I also read that there are dip switches where you can change the sounds from digital to chimes.

                                          This needs further investigation! B-)
