Scratch build of Bally’s “Bon Voyage” EM from 1974. 4k-ish playfield (upscaled from 2k and touched up). VR minimal room included – thanks to Sixtoe!

This table wouldn’t have been possible without the valuable assistance of xsvtoys from Pinside. He provided invaluable playfield, plastics, and backglass scans and images, and had so many other great resources. Thanks buddy!

      B2S file included.

What a fun table.  I’d never seen this game before and it is now on my list to keep an eye out for irl.   Designed by the same guy that did Centaur?  Big thanks @cirqus for bringing this to life.  So – –

Here are my two wheels for this table.

As always you find my wheels in my MEGA-account or in the PinUp Popper media-database:

                          Plays nice. I like it!

One suggestion would be to scale the stand up targets so they aren’t protruding above the plastics.

These settings should be pretty close to real-world size for this era of stand-ups:

Looks awesome JR :) Note there’s a BV B2S in the zip file!

Thanks Bord, I did adjust them to some extent but I don’t have your eye I guess :D

Appreciate the kind words. I put a LOT of time into this, redrawing a ton of stuff in PS and some Blender modeling. I took this table on as I knew it didn’t already have a VPX version, and I’d read about the interesting backglass (http://www.xsvtoys.net/bon_voyage_pinball_extras.htm) and it just piqued my interest.

After implementing everything though, my own opinion on the table is that it’s very simplistic and quite easy to achieve the main objective. Still happy to have put it out there!

The next table I’m interested in building is Mars Trek… but there are VERY limited assets available for that. On the other hand, the gameplay seems fantastic so I’m really keen to do it. We’ll see what happens!

Mars Trek – a great game! I hope you do it.

Mar’s Trek!  That would be right in your wheelhouse @cirqus !   The bg for Bon Voyage has a story?  No way.  Fine, I’ll put the real bg in.

Gameplay?  I really like the straightforward, simple yet asymmetric layout of this em.  Thanks again for working on this.  I spent some fun time getting this dialed in to my cab.  I think it’s going to get a lot of play!

And thanks for your wheels @joey2001! Nobody’s a real VP author until you’ve done wheels for their tables :)
