https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/premier-excalibur-1988-vp9-to-vpx-conversion/
This is a VPX conversion of mfuegemann’s 1988 Gottlieb Premier Excalibur table. Big thanks to mfuegemann for his work.
Additional thanks to:
‘ Maralb, Whysnow, Gaspumprob and Akiles for providing loads of images for the playfield and plastics
‘ Kodiac for the flipper primitive routine
‘ Fuzzel for providing the images for the playfield lights
‘ JPSalas for the Flasher fading code
‘ Inkochnito for the DIP switch code
‘ Arngrim for the DOF and SoundFX codeThis table is really fun to play. Feel free to fix it up or modify it.
It needs the rom named “excalibr.zip”. Hopefully you have a friend who has it, because the Gottlieb roms were pulled from all of the VP sites. Quietly ask your friend.

December 21, 2018 at 8:33 am #107321Nope. No DOF. I just commented out script line 76 to get around it.

Ok I should never code while sleepy. :)
Line 76 should be:
SolCallback(8) = “vpmSolSound SoundFX(“”Knocker””,DOFKnocker),” ‘Sol8
I had a period instead of a comma before DOFKnocker.
Sorry.

December 21, 2018 at 8:59 am #107326I have some graphical issues on the four flippers, because of the prims.
I move them away and it’s OK, but maybe there is a better solution?

December 21, 2018 at 9:15 am #107330Without looking at the table it sounds like you need to adjust the primitives sizes.

December 21, 2018 at 9:30 am #107332Yes could use new flippers. In vp9 the image for that primitive was set on a black background which in vp9 you could set as the transparent color. I had to photoshop the image and delete the black background and save it as a png. I don’t see any black left on the image when I zoom in, but it shows up in vpx like that. They should be replaced with a nicer primitive anyway. When converting these, I am just removing the selected vp9 transparent color on things like round targets and in this case the flippers and saving them in a transparent png format and reimporting them. If someone has a primitive for this year Premier table please share it and I will change them out. Or you can mod and release it. I’m on to the next rough conversion.

December 24, 2018 at 5:00 am #107480Plunger is something you can enable yourself. Cntr+Shift+E, scroll down to plunger. Make sure options is enabled on the push button on the left. Now for the plunger properties tick that enable analog plunger or what it now is called – and your done. Remember to save :)

December 7, 2019 at 2:36 pm #153702Hi rascal, thank you for the table. it seem that ther is no sound for the ball (rolling, hit on wall, roll on ramp…)
i tryed to change a few option in the script but i never can get sounf other than hit on target / drain
is it normal as it come from VP9 and we need too add sound subroutine, or did i miss something ? i can’t find where the subroutine SoundTime_Timer (where the sound roll1 is play) is called
i set ccontroller = 3 for rom mechanical sound in the script (but i think there is no call for this variable), solenoid = 2 … all is working but i get no more sounds (same sounds with or without the option)
something is missing but i can’t find what… (and before you ask, i already set all the sound of the table to the max with the key ’tilde’ on the DMD)

Watch videos of this table. There are no power slingshots, they are just rubbers and a trigger on the real machine.
