It’s finally here! The all new “Tarcisio Theme” for Pinup Popper!

Created by the talented Tarcisio Caleiro!

A stunning collection of beautifully created images and videos for Popper’s Default System media. This currently includes:

      – an eye-popping metallic chrome wheelbars

      – clean and immaculate Popper System wheels

      – jaw dropping videos for Loading, Playfield, and Backglass

This theme was designed to work perfectly with Tarcisio’s other Table Wheel collections that was created for VPX, FX3, FX2, and more. It’s HIGHLY recommended that you use those wheels with this theme. They’re beautiful! That being said it still works great with all other wheel images.

There are 4 versions of the theme to choose from:

      4K (3840×2160) Tarcisio Theme

      3K (3200×1800) Tarcisio Theme

      2K (2560×1440) Tarcisio Theme

      HD (1920×1080) Tarcisio Theme

The only difference between them is the resolution of the Wheelbar, default Playfield and Loading videos. Everything else is the same. So if you have a 4K TV for your playfield…then you would want the 4K version. That would give you a 4K Wheelbar, 4K Loading video and 4K Playfield videos. You can however mix and match the wheelbar or videos from different version if they perform better for you.

      Installation:

(This installation will overwrite your Popper DEFAULT media! Make any backups of anything you don’t want to lose!)

Simply extract the archive of your choice to a temporary folder. Copy the POPMedia folder OVERTOP of your PinupSystem’s POPMedia folder, wherever you have it setup. When prompted, overwrite all files.

Then follow the two SETUP pictures included with the archive. It’s important you make the EXACT changes noted in those pictures!

Those SETUP pictures will have you make the following changes (REQUIRED!):

      – editing the pinupmenu PuP-Pack (Popper’s Pup-Pack). You will be changing the CustPos of the Wheelbar / Select Screen. This is basically positioning and sizing the Wheelbar EXACTLY where it needs to be to line up correctly with wheels and the videos.

      – change settings in your “Popper Setup – GlobalConfig – Game/Wheel Toolbar”.

-once you make these changes you MUST “Reset All Thumbs”!

NOTE: After you have RESET THUMBS…the FIRST time you scroll through every wheel in Popper navigation, it may seem a little stuttery. This is normal as Popper is building Thumb cache images as you see your wheels for the first time. After Popper has seen them all, then you will get fast and smooth browsing again.

      Default media for different Emulators:

This theme install will NOT update your “Emulator Specific” default media. This is NOT the same as your PLAYLIST media! You need to copy and replace the following files from this Theme into your “POPMedianame_of_emulatorSystem” folder:

      – pup_default_loading.mp4

      – pup_default_PlayField.mp4

      – pup_default_BackGlass.mp4

      – pup_default.png

      PLAYLIST Media:

You can use the media from this Theme for your Playlist Media if you want. Simply use the Popper Media Manager to choose your PLAYLIST, and simply Drag and Drop this Theme’s media to the appropriate box. You can use these files for Playlists if you like:

      – pup_default_loading.mp4

      – pup_default_PlayField.mp4

      – pup_default_BackGlass.mp4

      – pup_default_toolbar.png

      Coloured Wheelbars:

Now you can have the Wheelbar for Tarcisio’s Theme any way you want it! With 8 colours and multiple resolutions to choose from, or you make your own! You can choose your own colour for the Popper default, or you can have a different colour for each Playlist! Download them here:

      https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/tarcisios-theme-coloured-wheelbars/

      Coloured Popper Videos:

Now you can have the Playfield, Loading, and Backglass videos for Tarcisio’s Theme with 8 colours to choose from! (including a rainbow version that cycles colours) You can choose your own colour for the Popper default, or you can have a different colour for each Emulator, or a different one for each game! Download them here:

      https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/tarcisios-theme-coloured-popper-videos/

      Coloured Popper System Wheels:

You now have the choice to use 8 different colours for all of the Popper System Wheels. Choose a single colour, or mix it up. The choice is now yours! These can be downloaded here:

      https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/tarcisios-theme-coloured-popper-wheels/

Note about Adding Media for custom Themes:

If you want to have your own “Popper” default videos and wheel images, then you need to copy the new media to your “PoPMedia Default System” folder.

If you want to have your own “Emulator” default videos, then you need to copy the new videos to your “PoPMedia Emulator System” folder.

Playlist media only plays when the Playlist is“highlighted”. This includes media for sub-playlists. There are no Loading videos for a Playlist.

Each and every Table however can have their own media for everything.

Don’t forget that HOME LIST can also have its own default media.

If you are using multiple wheelbars for example…don’t forget to add a wheelbar to the HOME LIST, or the last wheelbar image used within a Playlist will still be active when going back to the HOME LIST.

      Tarcisio’s Table Wheel Images:

It’s highly recommended to use Tarcisio’s excellent Wheel Images with this Theme. This Theme was designed specifically for them. They can be currently found here:

A complete set for FX3 and FX2, already named and good to go for Popper!

      https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/tarcisios-fx-wheels/

Another amazing set of VP Wheels that keeps growing:

      AA VFX:

A special thanks to AA VFX for use of their beautiful videos for this theme. Check out their really cool Youtube channel and website!

In case someone doesn’t read instructions…these changes are REQUIRED for this Theme to work properly.

Make sure after all files have been copied to POPMedia…or any of your Emulator media folders…. RESET THUMBS!

Then be patient as Popper will seem a little stuttery after that until your browse through all your wheels ONCE, as it is building a cache for the thumbs. After that it’s smooth sailing!

Some pics of this lovely Theme:

        Coloured Wheelbars:

Now you can use coloured versions of his Wheelbar. There are 8 colours available to use, and all in each resolution (HD,2K,3K,4K). You can choose your own colour for the default wheelbar, or you can have a different colour for each Emulator or Playlist! Simply use the Popper Media Manager to “drag and drop” the wheelbars to your Playlist’s Wheelbar Box.

A HUGE thank you to Tarcisio for creating this wonderful theme, and also your excellent wheels that go with it. Everyone who sees them is in awe!

This looks great. I don’t use a frontend much anymore but it might be enough to push me back into the pool.

If anyone has your wheelbar looking “squished” like this…then you didn’t change the CustPos, or you entered the new settings in the wrong field entry, and the wheelbar is still using the default size and position…which won’t work with this theme.

                    Wrong

As I’ve seen happen to some people, follow a tip.
Follow exactly the instructions and values that Terry explained in the installation.

I don’t run this frontend yet. But I can tell you Tarcisio. Once I take the plunge – this will be the theme I’ll be running. You might just have convinced me to take the plunge sooner than what I have planned. :rose:

                                    [screennum], xpos, ypos, width, height

everything other than screennum is a % of the [screennum].   so xpos 50 will be placed 1/2 way into your screen.

Terry, can you break down the values for custom pos ? Some of us, who put the wheelbar on the Backglasss, where it should be, :-) need to adjust those… txs

ahh.. A fellow backglass wheelbar BELIEVER!!!

                                        [screennum], xpos, ypos, width, height

everything other than screennum is a % of the [screennum]. so xpos 50 will be placed 1/2 way into your screen.

To clarify… a PuP-Pack can override what the PuP Screen’s “default” settings are. Each PuP screen can use another PuP screen for position and size reference instead of its own “screen” default settings.

                                        3,74,0,17,100

So the “Wheelbar / Select” screen will use the PuP playfield (3) screen’s settings as a reference for position and size. The position will START at the same location as screen 3 does. Position X=74 (out of 100%), Y=0. The “size” will be 17% width, and 100% height.

This is how the Tron 2 on 1` and 3 on 1 PuP-Packs can work with Backglass and Topper videos on one screen.

also, to add to Terry’s post:

you actually aren’t ‘forced’ to use custompos.  you can clear that field out and it will use the pupdisplay configured location for gameselect screen in PinUP.

that so people in portrait or desktop or fancy wheelbar layouts can use this theme too.

you can see video if you don’t want to use custompos:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTbJ9ZuqNoE

Nothing I said was a knock on anything you or the theme designer did it was more of a suggestion for an enhancement to the PinUp system to have switchable themes.  I already figured out how to deal with doing my own backup as I stated.  I believe I’ve thanked you many times for all the help and resources you’ve provided I said the PupPacks were awesome.   So here’s 3 more pats on the back if I missed a few.
