I published the new vpinball 2.0 app to google play store and apple store today. NOT ALL push notifications are live in new app so dont upgrade if you want ALL notifications but i need more people testing so figured best way is to put it out live. I will SLOWLY make more notifications for new app live one at a time once more users upgrade.
I assume Android app will be approved first and will currently have forum subscription, PM’s and i think mention working for push. Will add more like downloads and comments on wiki/projects soon but cool thing is you can setup in app what you want to receive just keep in mind not all are working yet.
IOS app generally takes 2-5 days to approve so same deal as Android not ALL notifications are setup.
Site has not been very busy so figure its a good time to test the app but i cannot tell you how much time has been put into this thing! is it perfect? propably not but should be a huge improvement from old app including gestures swipe down to refresh, swipe left right for forward/back and many more changes(to many to list) If you download new 2.0 app please report any issues here.

Enabled 2 new notifications for new app this morning for testing and fingers crossed it wont down site. Download updated and download waiting for approval(me only but can add mods to this one)
I also spent a lot of time on screenshots in app stores so let me know what you think

Should be live in Apple today. Make sure you remove old app first just Incase upgrade don’t work properly and also don’t forget to set your “push config” in app

Remember to setup your push config in app I will be adding more over time and only a few currently are live but in your app they need to be on if you want notifications

I should also mention on left menu in app all the way to bottom is “dark mode”
I do know of a couple issues with app fyi:
1. if you open app via notification for subscribed topic it will not open to actual new reply(yet) app wont even show new reply when opened from notification until you page back and page forward no idea why that is but will work on it.
2: sometimes you will get a pink error in editor related to image insert icon just click it off and you can still reply for now until i fix that.

Nice looking update
Only issue I’ve run across so far on the android side is it doesn’t deal with font scaling on the bottom bar, cuts off the text if i use anything besides default font size (I need bigger cause I’m old).

@borgdog interesting never even thought about that. What happens if you rotate to landscape and then back to portrait does it still not fit? I also love having gestures working for refresh, forward and back plus segmented notifications so you can opt out of some is nice too

App works pretty good so far. While writing a response to a message I could not move the screen over to the left until I rotated the phone to landscape. But it might have been a one time glitch because I am not having the issue this time
oh yeah I am, the moment I click “done” it won’t let me move screen left or right. This can be a problem unless I’m already on the left side (where the submit button is). Not a big deal I can always just rotate the screen and go back to portrait and it’s fine

When looking at latest messages, if I click on the little bubble that should take me to the first unread message, instead it takes me to the top of the page that the first unread message resides on.
