There’s alot of negative out there about bigus, however a few of his tables like Barb Wire, bone busters are still good fun, though not up to the quality we are all being treated to by the real vp gurus out there…

I don’t mind the idea of physics mods being allowed – hopefully this gets taken further to further improve the visuals one day..

I for one quite enjoy Thals Dracula mod – was kinda wishing there were similar light/medium mods for other tables so there are ‘alternate’ feeling versions pre-made out there, for a little variety.

Just my two cents. Look forward to testing this table and comparing it to the original..

        anybody else noticing ball stutter

yes a little bit in the bottom area of the playfield … but cpu / gpu does not went over 45% all over the time while playing.

Yes I have the same experience – with the original version my gpu usage is around 95% and with this version doesn’t go over 50ish%

I must say I have not been able to solve my performance issues with this table – anybody else noticing ball stutter that was is not present on the original table?

What large changes between the original version and this mod might cause performance differences?

Has anyone started making alternate packages for other makes of pinball like ones suited to Data East machines etc.? I am looking to adapt this into a DE package but if this is underway already I will reach out and offer any help, if not is this okay to take this package and alter?

Wooooah momma there goes my afternoon

                :yahoo:

edit: played a bunch of rounds – love the graphics and lighting improvements, and the physics are definitely more realistic. The only negative is this new version seems to be really taxing my system! The original version (with brute force fxaa turned off, Fast NFAA on, and vsync set to 1) gives me absolute perfect ball rendering (I can still see it spinning at high speeds) and this new version plays quite well, but the ball almost looks like its ‘vibrating’ no matter what settings I use. I get the same results with all the recent VPINworkshop tables. Does anyone else notice this or do I just need to get a better GPU?

Stunning game, a real treat to play. Thanks so much for making this! Its interesting how multiple players have to share use of the ‘time expander’ locks – makes for an interesting multi player game!

Amazing guys – one of my favourite games that was also the ‘least current’ looking on my cab. Tell the new guy he rocks!

Using the pinscape setup you could set your exit button up so it works with a shifted button. Not sure how you could set it up without use of pinscape

So I was able to get scoring to display using the externall dll option in the f1 menu. Not sure why the regular vpinmame won’t show but the freezy dll display will… but it does

Thanks for the concise explanation, I will be doing that!

But yes, when I open the real table ‘Space Shuttle’ I see the vpinmame alphanumeric scoring on my 3rd screen and the GQ PUP pack plays on my backglass – but on the galaxy quest table the pinmame scoring does not open. So whatever the issue is is with the table and not with Pup or pinmame.

I have tried the 2 and 3 screen setup and don’t see any dmd / scoring. When I run the real space shuttle table with the same rom it does show the scoring (and the GQ puppack) but when I play the GQ table with the same rom the scoring doesnt show. Anybody know what’s going on?

That looks like some pretty sophisticated scoring for a scripted game! Hopefully that is still in the works! Well scripted scoring and a pup-dmd, who needs spike emulation ;)

In this case I had just increased playfield friction slightly (to .15) and reduced gravity constant from 1 to .97, and increased the slope to 6.8 . I decided to try my idea, start fresh and unpacked a new copy of the table, I changed the perspective but not the physics this time and now the same table/rom is working fine. Not sure how my slight physics adjustments would cause the table to not produce a second ball after draining one (for example) but I can’t think of what else it would have been.

                                      Thanks for the help thalamus

Deleted the nvram but no luck.

I read on another topic that changing the playfield friction on some some tables caused this issue – going to play with those settings later and see if that does anything

Edit: solved, it was my changed physics settings causing the issue

May as well ask even though this thread has been quiet for two years lol-

I am having issues, whenever I ‘capture’ a ball in the top two wells the game doesn’t put out a new ball. Also occasionally after draining a ball the rom will play music to start the new ball but no ball is generated. Any suggestions?
