AWESOME! the last version was almost unplayable… well it is playable but you wanted to do with your eyes closed so the pain would stop.

If you are going to do this, you really need to do the backglass over too

so… you made a backglass for a table that isn’t out of VPX?

January 11, 2021 at 1:02 pm in reply to: Altsound – Diner (Williams 1990) – American Graffiti Remix #219133Is there a way to learn how to make these? I have a table I want to change sounds on and based on what I see in the files here you need to match some code names to the ones in the original game, but I do not know how you figure out what those names are for that particular table.

I have a question, how do you figure out what to name the ALT files so they work?
I am working on a table and really want to change some of the more annoying sounds but do not know know to figure out the names to give them, please help

I downloaded an earlier version of this table and the physics were a mess and parts of it did not work well. Is this one better on those things?

yea, it does that unless you turn off the ROM sounds manually. I keep mine on as the sounds from BP don’t interfere with the music ( at least most of the time).

isn’t this going to load sideways? I am looking at the video example and I think it will not load right, right?

Ok, to answer at least one of the questions here, YES the problem happens on the original table before mods were done. It is not the fault of the mod.
It only happened to me once before we started the mod and recopied the NVRAM and didn’t see it pop up again for a long while so thought it was a fluke.
I ran it for weeks without issue wile modding and the problem did not return for me till after the 1st music added version of the mod.
I then backed upthe modded table, removed it totally and ONLY ran the original table for a while, it happened again.
So I did some experimenting to see if I could isolate the issue. After making the NVRAM read only it has NEVER repeated for me…ever, not once.
I reloaded the modded table and completed all changes without the issue returning.
This is why I suggested making that the fix. I don’t know what mistake in the original table makes this happen. I just got into this January 2020 and have tons to learn.
Maybe the mod exasperates the problem to it is more frequent for people but without a doubt it happens on the original table as well.
ALSO: I don’t think based on what I read that anyone means any disrespect to anyone else, at least I hope not. We are all in this together and if there is an issue or a problem I would hope we would help each other out and not try to drive a wedge in the group we have here.

the problem is you hit button to insert coin, you hear it make the sounds that it happened but you can’t start the game. You have to use coin slot 2 (4 on KB) to get the coin to actually work. Once the problem starts the only way to stop it is to remove the NVRAM and recopy it to the folder. If you make it read only the corruption of the NVRAM doesn’t happen.

it isn’t that is “has” to be set to read only, during the coding stage both of us working on it had the same issues as some of the people on here, including on the untouched original Cybernaut table. So I did some experiments and found that the problem stopped if I made the NVRAM read only. It went from happening every 3 or 4 days to never happening again, so I told people here that fixes the issue, except for the one dude that is still having problems.

Sorry guys I haven’t responded, for some reason I kept getting the notices that I had messages but they wouldn’t show me them, no idea why
If you are having “starting” problems, delete the NVRAM then copy the one provided, MAKE SURE that it is set to read only BEFORE you launch the table again.
This should clear up the issue.

did you leave the music in the folder they are in with the zip file? Do not copy the individual music files to the music folder, copy the whole folder there so they are in their own folder

hmm…. I will look into the music thing. If it helps, I didn’t figure out how to get it to auto play so you must push Right Magna Save to start it
