Having some maor issues with this release unfortunately. It seems to be related to high-ish scoring games and hitting the ramp just to the right of the interceptor. Im getting complete VPX freeze up and crash. It is only with this table. Any suggestions?

      Thanks!

Had a blast with this today, really does play great!

I am however experiencing a fair amount of stutter when the lighting starts getting active. Hitting a launch skill shot, or triggering multiball , for example. I run natively at 144hz, and was wondering if it was an issue with a mismatch with the lighting timer frequency? I don’t know, just a thought….

That sounds great Terry, it definitely sounds like it’s going to be something special!
The one thing that got me when doing the Avatar rom sounds was the sheer amount of audio files contained in the rom, like thousands and none were named apart from script names. That made it very time consuming so if you need help along the way I’d be happy to help out. ?

Ill check up up on that Thalamus, it’s most definitely not intentional haha, 100% noob here :)

i think you should get back to the new update for sure, continuous improvements are good for everyone in my opinion. I did find a great 3D model of the amp suit online for download but wasn’t sure how to implement that, could be an option for the future perhaps?

sorry sirknocky, I’m not familiar with that error, sounds like a rom error perhaps? Did you try the new rom?

              thanks again

                haha, oh dear!

Time to start over I guess!

The problem started when I imported the old playfield from 85vett version… Immediately everything was mis-aligned. I tried to align everything manually but these elements were a problem.

Regardless, today I have learned a lot! :)

Hey, I made a quick video.

                  Hope this helps explain!

Ok guys, I have been at it for like 5 hours today and i need a break. I have had some trouble with some other pieces. Could do with a quick chat to get me on my way again. Basically, I have changed the playfield image but in doing so, all the posts are now wayy out of position. Trouble is when I select one of them in the editor, they all become selected.

Secondly, there are 3 items that strangely sit on top of the playfield and I cant get rid of them.

I realise we are all probably the opposite end of the world so if you could help it would be great. Ill check back in later :)

Haha yes I do find myself picking up hobbies that remove me from my actual life!

thanks for ok-ing the mod. Would be great to get it added in as a release.

I’m still playing around with it and need to tidy some things up and add it the popper version too.

when I’m finished we can get it pushed out.

                      Thanks again :)

Hey Thalamus, I have not seen that table to reference but I will check it out for sure.

i was thinking about changing ROM sounds actually but wasn’t sure it was possible?

Ok, so it’s all working great now!

Table loads and the movie soundtrack launches. When the game starts it switches to the original pinball music.

will try and integrate it with popper later today.

thanls for the help guys, it’s been quite an enjoyable experience so far  :yahoo:

Excellent info guys, thank you so much.

this is more about learning initially so I can hopefully give something back in the future.

I thought about adding in movie soundtracks to some of my movie based tables and as Avatar was first in my alphabetical list, this was the table to help me learn.

I still have not updated to popper Terry but I’m sure it takes care of most of what I’m doing for sure. I guess if I learn outside of popper then it will serve me well for other tables.

As for FP versions, yes that is what I’m after. My son has a bartop arcade I built that runs FP (not enough power for VP) and I enjoy some of the extras added in to those tables.

thanks again, I’ll report back my results :)

                              Hey Thalamus,

I’ve been experimenting with this table today to try and learn how things are done so I can help in the future with other tables etc.

I wanted to change the table so it plays the original music as you load the table. Well I can get the music playing but it won’t stop when the game starts. Can you help with that part of the script?

This is just a personal journey for me, I don’t want to step on your work or previous authors.

                              best regards

Ive been playing a bit of JP today, and I have noticed there is no initial ball save timer? I have looked through the adjustments menu too but there does not seem to be an option to enable it. Is it even a thing on this table?

Heartbreaking when the ball drains at the start of the third ball ! haha

Yeah… I have no idea why that was only effecting one table but that seems to be it, I put my old ini back in, did a reboot and the rogue dmd is now gone.

Jesus Christ, I have been pulling my hair out all week, put hours and hours and hours into trying to fix it.

Thank you to everyone for trying to help me here, the community has been mega helpful since I started with this hobby, probably the most helpful and friendly bunch I have ever met online.

Oh dear…. I think I found the culprit, and you are gonna think im completely stupid! I am going to post the outcome as I hope it saves someone this week long heartache!

So in Vpinmame settings, under defaults my monitor was set to use monitor#1 full screen.  I changed that to default and combined with that new ini I now have a teeny tiny dmd that I can move around…. things are moving. Now I need to get rid of that!

SO the new .ini file results in the same outcome I am afraid :(

I have tried all combinations of the B2S settings window for DMD; if I set the dmd to hidden on the backglass, the dmd still appears, but the animations get the ghosting effect.

Why won’t this dmd go away?, lol

OK. I’ve re-edited your whole dmddevice.ini file … so, make a copy of the one you’ve got and use the one attached. As I said. There is one option that I’m not sure on how is going to affect your installation. Its the stayontop = false It might be that you need to change that to true. But, as I said. I’ve seen people having all sorts of troubles with that set to enabled. You of course need to rename the attached files since I’m not allowed to upload it with the correct file-name.

That is really really kind of you…. maaan I hope this works! :)
