Looks good and plays good, but like many VPX versions of tables, I still love the vintage sound of the previous VP9 version:bye:
Lucky for you this is a tweaker’s hobby. Shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to swap the old sounds in.

July 2, 2018 at 3:33 am #90294I’m curious about what kind of high scores are you guys getting on this table? My guess is that the guys with cabs have an advantage because of the Bird Ramp skill shot?

July 21, 2018 at 3:41 pm #93012V1.1 fixes a problem with Visual Pinball that makes sounds louder in the middle than when panned left or right. This is because VP sets volumes like this
Pan Left Speaker Right Speaker
Left 1 0
Mid 1 1
Right 0 1
This new system corrects so that the volume is constant across the pan from left to right.
I’ve also added in an option menu item that lets you select Surround 7.1, Stereo Left/Right or Stereo Front/Rear settings for under playfield sounds. The Stereo settings allow for a second sound card or USB sound device to drive a second set of speakers under the playfield. This way you can have the speakers in either configuration and the sounds will pan between them right to left or top to bottom.

July 24, 2018 at 9:03 pm #93376You’re right Slydog43, the skirts are missing in this new version, I’ll see what I can do to get them back because the settings all look correct for the bumpers.

July 24, 2018 at 9:25 pm #93378I’ve seen this before. IIRC, turning off visible bumper elements and then turning them back on fixed it. Don’t have the game in front of me right now to test but that would be the simple thing to try.

July 25, 2018 at 2:47 pm #93402I had no luck turning on/off various parts of the bumper, so I move them off to the side, created new bumpers with same mats, etc. , then added them to the collection. I then removed the old ones and made sure the collection had 3 bumpers in the right order (for the index stuff to work). Working great now.
Found some strange behavior when fixing the missing skirts. I can rename a bumper to bumper1 and have 2 bumpers named the same (no no).
Another note about the table, the bumpers should be rotated 90 degrees according to my real table.
Love this table, plays so great. Working on fixing a few other things

July 26, 2018 at 8:51 am #93505I don’t understand why the skirts aren’t showing because none of that section of code was changed and none of the table elements were altered between this version and the one before it. Slydog43, can you PM me a copy of your newly edited table?

November 18, 2019 at 8:23 am #151492Both flippers have a “buzz” sound associated with them because they are AC flippers and as they age that acquire this sound. Perhaps that is making the “drone” noise.
Does it happen every time you play the table? Does it happen with the left flipper?

November 18, 2019 at 8:35 am #151493I did notice in the script the buzz sound, and thought that too, when i start the table, and start a game, everything is ok, i can press the left flipper and hear the buzz sound, as designed. but as soon as i hit the right flipper, a totally different drone sound starts that is constant, and i cant stop it regardless of what i do, play the table, press all the flippers, ect. the drone is very loud.
I did have the vp9 version on before i tried updated to the vpx version… maybe conflict with that somehow?? dont see how but its a idea maybe.

November 18, 2019 at 9:58 am #151496There is another sound that is made when a ball is stuck in the volcano on the left side of the table that could be what you are hearing. It would require a ball to be in the kicker for that to start up. I’d uninstall the table and download a fresh version and see if that fixes it.
I just played the table this morning and when I get a chance I’m going to update it with the new score reel reset logic from some of my newer EM’s. I really like how this one plays thanks to those who helped us out with the physics.
