you mean 2 years ago, last year there were like 4 TNA’s and the original whitewood at TPF.  It will be at TPF again this year. I may be able to get one in my setup this year.

same here @randr, i own zero pinballs, and this is the first one i am seriously considering putting my house.  I’ve been playing the desktop version here for an hour or so, even better once the soundtrack is added.

              @spookyMoulder It’s true: https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=39964&p=416272

Might be a little too early for that.  I appreciate the effort, this is one of my faves, was just bummed that i couldn’t play it.

                Thanks for the effort.

While i was excited to see this, you really can’t play it at all. no backglass, score is in the way, not cabinet friendly at this point.

Regardless here is my contribution to the table, replace the tna.wav in the sound manager with this file for a more realistic soundtrack.

if anyone has the line:1 null error on exit.

comment the ultradmd function out in the kisscore.vbs file.  The error should go away

                  Sub table1_Exit
                  Savehs
                  If B2SOn Then Controller.stop
                  ‘ if UseUDMD then
                  ‘ UltraDMD.clear
                  ‘ UltraDMD.uninit
                  ‘ end if
                  End Sub

Quick question… I’ve never really run any other systems on my cabinet other than VP. I have a standalone version of Pinball FX2, it’s a non Steam install. Can I not use the Pinball FX2.exe. I tried setting the script from Steam.exe to Pinball FX2.exe and when launched it just closes everything, including PuP.

I don’t have that version…but I would ask sensless, as I think he has a non Steam version as well….though most people update to FX3 now.

Fixed Terry, Hide dmd has to be checked in PBX game manager.  This makes the loadup uglier as the VPX window splashes for a second or 2 before the STLE PUP takes over.  However pressing 1 starts the game everytime now.

That didn’t work either, removed the older table, and removed the new b2s.  Still have to alt-tab before the table registers start button.

I ran NB’s Pup avatar tables and that loads fine, seems to to be specific to this table.

disabled ultradmd, and topper, still no focus w/i PBX.

anybody having focus issues using vpx, no matter what i do the game starts with the focus on pinballx instead of the actual table to start the game.  alt-tab bring up all of the windows and this game has a alot of them. i have to alt-tab to the table and then hitting 1 starts the game.

This only happens with this game, other VPX pup games load and start fine.

what do you mean here?  which config?

                                  1. Open the file strangerthingsle-3.37.vpx and check the config options at the top of the file if you have 3 and 4 screens. If you have a dmd then turn on the ultradmd setting. If you have a topper then turn on the topper setting.

try renaming the b2s backglass to match the rom name.

Maybe so, but this hobby is like windows………you might get XP but the community is on windows 10.

The joy is coming to these sites and seeing what new mods or improvements have been made to the tables, and we all know, not all are plug and play.

You cant buy a pre-configured drive full of tables that’s worth while, what you get is a library full of WTF.  You might get 50 or so tables, but those that are deep into the hobby are a couple hundred tables deep in their cabs.

It’s a catch 22, make the table and charge a fee, then you risk a huge population not seeing your creation.  Release it, and keep on going, everyone sees and enjoys it.

I’m guessing if you release it to the public you did it for the pure joy and excitement it brings to yourself and those that play your table.  Think of it like graffitti, these tables are being played all over the world.

Keeping it real, who wrote the roms that inhabit these tables?  Certainly not the authors, so there’s a certain level of leech in all of these endeavors….. virtual pinball, mame, etc.  Not much you can really do, if this stuff is freely available on the net.

Hard to control the world’s intent man, right or wrong….

Do what you do because you have a passion for it, don’t do it and micromanage what someone else is doing with it.  If thats the issue, patent it or lock it down like pb fx and TPA did.

Well, I wouldn’t say setting up a table is easy.

Keep in mind getting all of the hardware to work with the table as intended is a PITA, plus tables are constantly being updated, and some things are broken in the process.  Which then requires additional research on 5-6 different sites before you find the fix or the answer to your problem.

VPCabs i think only installs licensed Pinball FX2 tables now in their cabs.

However i would agree, buying a preloaded table is cool but short lived.  The tables change and you have to know how the software works with your hardware to fix your problems, and you will have problems.

If somebody sells you a fully loaded cab they are asking for a major headache, as you will have inherited a troubleshooting friend for life.

So try to learn and understand the hobby, playing is one thing, but being able to service your cab, give back to the community in knowledge and experiences, not just high scores.

                                          Good luck

I am unable to get the letters and shapes working. i have the DirectOutputshapes.xml file within my DOF config directory. It has defined shape variables.I have regenerated my directoutputconfig 30 and 40 files, verified that they contain shape information/mappings. When i load tables which have shape mapping, i still get my default flasher shapes. My cabinet.xml doesnt refer to the outputshapes.xml at all? should it? Thanks

Use the DOF letter config tool earlier in the thread to make your own custom display, or for testing paste the code that Terry and I have supplied in the thread in the PF Back MX section in your table DOF.  Regenerate your files, and copy over the config and config30 files.

Run the game and you will see the new letters, also make sure you’ve setup your combos and the ws2811 config as Terry pointed out earlier in the thread as well.
