Strange Science is a pinball machine from 1986 and manufactured by Bally Manufacturing Co.
This is a great table with crazy sounds, bright lights, and a five ball multiball mode!
This started out as a solo project but thankfully it turned
into a joint effort to also include invaluable talents of BrandonLaw and bord.
We’re very happy with how it turned out and hope you all enjoy it!
Big thank you to the following people for making this happen:
destruk : For being able to freely use the original table design from VP V9
BrandonLaw : Invaluable contributor of table resources, improvements, and beta testing
bord : Creator of those awesome primitives (because i can only use Blender to build ramps!)
jturner : LOTS of tear down / reference pics i found in Flickr
nFozzy, flupper, ninuzzu – newer VPX subroutines and techniques
bigus1 : Playtesting and improvements
Anyone I may have forgotten. Please let me know and I’ll add yo

January 18, 2020 at 4:53 pm #159216I am so glad this table was on Zigbane’s plate! As someone who owns the real table, it’s dear to my heart and just a treat to play. Please give this table some time as it’s not a hard table to play, but incredibly rewarding. Always something to chase! The real life table is obnoxious with how loud and bright it is with it’s (one of only a few ever) 120v neon topper. Just a hoot to play. I really hope the community enjoys it and I cannot thank Zig and the team enough for this amazing contribution!

January 18, 2020 at 5:06 pm #159219Looks great, I’ll have to get it on the cabinet to really test it out.
I do have to ask, and the same goes for D&D as well, why do you have the table rails in the DT background image? it looks fine until someone (like me) changes the POV for the desktop, and then you have weird floating wing rails and black space between the rails and the cabinet walls, the background image needs to be extended behind the table of your view to allow for people that may like other views, and side rails should be on the table not the backdrop so they move with the desktop pov  thanks.

January 18, 2020 at 6:00 pm #159233I had the fortunate position of sitting back and watching @zigbane and @brandonlaw work on this project. Nothing but positivity and hard work behind the scenes. Really a pleasure to be a part of. Thanks guys!

January 18, 2020 at 7:37 pm #159255Nice work. I like the added touch when you hit the magna save buttons. It also has unusual out lanes. Nice to see different tables like this. Keep up the good work

January 18, 2020 at 9:19 pm #159281Wow. This was pretty radical table design from Bally in the mid ’80s.

I used to own this table and it was in really good condition, topper included.

January 19, 2020 at 5:04 am #159318Thank you very much@zigbane, @brandonlaw, @bord, @jtuner and the rest of you for this really surprising well made table. I thoroughly enjoyed playing it just now and looking forward to get back home to play it even more. Games like this, and D&D, will very soon force me into fixing my left magna save.
