Maybe the table needs a small adjustment. If you are able to get it through the upper left “S” divider, you are golden because the bumper has a tendency to shoot it straight up again scoring points and bonus x. I had a game just recently where this happened twice in one game, lost the ball without any bonus to speak of, but, the bonus x was at that point maxed and the score ended up above 100k.

You are getting this error because you’ve played the previous version and the high score file has more fields to it. What I did was to go into the script and change one line.
Const HSFileName=”CupheadVPX.txt”
into this
Const HSFileName=”CupheadProVPX.txt”
That way I can have two separate versions with working high scores.

This is my only way of getting a good score, too bad getting a good bonus is hard since the multipliers usually get maxed out with the S. The best I could do for a bonus is complete CUP targets but the ball usually drains before I can get mug etc….

I do have a question about getting bells/chimes working on a system that has both DOF and SSF enabled but does not have a chime unit. I saw in the script to use 0/1 for bells and chimes but for the life of me I can’t get that chime sound working on the table. I am admittedly pretty new to VPX so maybe I am just not familiar with what I need to change on my end.

September 28, 2020 at 8:31 am #202468Wow, what an awesome table. Play for half an hour and I’m fascinated. Beautiful artwork, lightning and physics.
I change one thing. The ball jumps always, if he reach the left and right flipper. So I adjusted this and now it rolls perfect.
I hate 2″ flipper. It’s hard to get a good score with that. My best score till now is 96.770 with an multi- and an extraball. During multiball the two coloured balls looks great.
I play better with long flippers. My highscore with them is 185.350.
And it is like Thalamus wrote. While the ball goes through the S, you can set the multiplier to 4x many times.
I’ve played it also in VR and there the gameplay is fascinating.

September 28, 2020 at 8:04 pm #202520I changed flipper length to 3 and it shows 3″ just fine but as soon as I hit start, it reverts back to 2″ flippers. Any clue what I’m doing wrong?
EDIT:
I found my issue. ‘A’ is also mapped to my Start button. Any way I can disable ‘A’ to change flippers in-game?
