yes i know that. I have tried 4 different drivers. 2 pre crimson (catalyst) and 2 new drivers including the latest.
There are no difference in performance.
And it’s the same windows install on both machines. The only real thing different is the cpu.
I wonder if it can have something to do with the motherboard and drivers for that. I tried upgrading the MB’s bios, installed latest Intel drivers , but still no difference.
Even when running without backglass it is the same speeds.
The pincab mb is a Asus Z97-P.
I am going to panic buy a GTX 970 today ;) ( If it’s the same i’ll sell it again ).

Yes that works for me too to set to 1. But i still want to know why my old card gets much higher framrates.
I tried the GTX 560 today in a PCIE2.0x16 slot (as it is a 2.0) card, but it was even slower. With all settings off i could only get about 80 fps on CC, and 35-40 fps with all on.
So i reinstalled the r7 in the same 2.0×16 slot and it is exactly the same speeds as before, so it seems the PCIE3.0x16 does not make any difference even though the r7 IS a 3.0×16 board.
I guess it is somwthing with my windows install that strangles the speeds. I just can’t figure out what.

Thanks. I am trying my old GTX560 today to see what difference it makes.

Yes i am leaning towards nvidia soon, but my real question is why the hd7850 computer is much faster than my pincab.
The r7 card has the same chips as the old hd7850 i have read. And speed comparison pages list these 2 board at almost the same performance.
I have now tried older catalyst drivers opposed to the latest crimson drivers and there is no difference. Still slow 55fps.
If i turn everything off in vp10 THEN i get the same framerates as i get on the HD7850 WITH all settings on.

I am running it. you don’t need their dll, it is built in pinmame now, and have been a while.
There are a bunch of sound kits on their forum (around a 100) to download.
Not all are very good.
The only problem i have is that some samples keeps looping even after they should be off.

I am also having a lot of trouble figuring out tweaks.
Example: on on computer (i7-3.5Ghz -8Gb)with an old radeon HD7850 i get 160 fps on cactus canyon vpx, and 120 with ALL on incl 4x antialiasing). T2 chrome vp9.21= 1600 fps.
On my pincab (i5-3.4Ghz -16Gb) with Radeon R7-370 i only get 55 fps, even after a reinstall. I have tried with and without windows composition also. T2 chrome vp9.21= 300fps.
It can’t be the cpu that does the difference?
I am giving up soon.

I think that is strange. I he (the creator) has come so far on a table, and it runs on vpx why not finish it? ..

Maybe i should present myself also.
I live outside Halmstad in south of sweden. I am 51 years old and i studied electronics in school ages ago.
I wanted to be a tv/radio technician when i was young. It did not happen ;(
But i have kept doing projects for myself instead.
I collect old videogames and did “collect” arcade games also (not anymore), but i still repair old boards sometimes.
I had at most around 10 cabs.
Now i only have a homebuilt cab with 6 original boards in, + a jamma cab + an original hypersports and a original
coctail rally-x, and an electromechanical Williams Flotilla.
I also have a Gottlieb Vulcan pinball in bad shape.
I was just interested in arcade games when i was younger. Now i just built a pinball cab with ledwiz’es and stuff.
I also have 2 3d printers i built myself.I also like cars, i own 5 cars right now.
This summer it probably won’t be much electronics as i have to fix a lot on my house (i live alone).

Don’t drill holes for flipperbuttons and ballshooter before you have fit the playfield monitor.

It’s not the reflection of light on the ball that annoys, it’s the big blue blooming on the ball.
I also does not like it. But i can’t seem to fix it. Even if i deselect the lights to reflect on ball, there is still some blooming. Maybe i am doing it wrong.

I am at the cab now and testing ledwiz pulse out. It works great at about 30-48 setting, and now when i think about it, there is no need to actually code anything into the tables. It could be done by the dofconfig tool. We just need an intensity setting for regular solenoids there. Just like the droptarget and target setting.
Then individual settings could be set for each EM table in the config.
Now i run the cheap yellow solenoids, and not contactors. But it should work with that too.
There is no more stressing with this than a real pinball.

Is this for vp10 or 10.1? I have seen some newer tables that 10.1 is needed.

I agree that not many have dual switches in the same button ( i had not even heard of it),
but did you read what i wrote? How about using the magnasave ?
Magnasave buttons i think most have. You need to login in order to like this post: click here
Could it not be possible to use the “magnasave” buttons many install? Then you would have two switches, one for lower flipper and magnasavebutton for upper flipper.
Just a thought.
why have FlipperLeft one Switch and FlipperRight two (+90) ?
Because there’s an upper flipper on the right and in most (recent) Stern game (if not all), the flipper buttons are actually a dual leaf switch. That is to say, if you push the button down half way, you’ll activate the lower flipper, push it all the way and activate the upper flipper. It’s useful for capturing balls on the lower flippers but still being able to use the upper flipper to flip stuff. I think this also lets you do stuff with lane light switching (i.e. you can hold the balls on the bottom flippers but still change lane lights). Since most cabs don’t have dual switches, Fren decided (wisely) to just activate both switches with one key press.
