I love your Topper Videos, but i miss 1280×720 in FullScreen (no WS)
Couldn’t do it with this particular one because the artwork didn’t fit at full 1280×720 or I would have had to distort it.
Think of it like a true widescreen 2:35 mini movie.

March 22, 2020 at 6:04 pm in reply to: Total Nuclear Annihilation – Welcome to the Future Edition #168553This is probably a silly question, BUT …
I like to keep 2 versions of any table that pup packs are made for … 1). The pup version, and 2.) The original non-pup version.
Previously, the pup packs are made for rom tables, and I add the line: .PuPHide = 1 to the table script after the “.Games(cGameName).Settings.value(“sound”) = 1” line that is commonly found to the copy of the table I don’t want to run the pup pack. This has worked for every other table, thus far.
For this table , I can’t seem to find the where to put that line in the script because there isn’t a “.Games(cGameName).Settings.value(“sound”) = 1” line anywhere.
Is there a line I can put somewhere to make this work?
BTW: Great work and thank to everyone involved – this is a great pup-pack!
I guess I made things too easy with this table :)
Well “mostly”…
For this table…there isn’t a pup / no pup version. It’s now all the same. You simply disable the pup features on the line:
Const UsePinup = 1 '0 = Off. 1 = Enable PinUp Player features (pup-pack, pupdmd)
I updated the table so that it will check to see if pup is installed. If pup is not installed at all…. it doesn’t matter if you have pup enabled in the table script… the table will then NOT use any PuP functions at all. They are completely bypassed. If pup is installed and the above line is disabled… it does the same things and wont use any pup features.
So if you want a pup and non-pup table…. make a copy of the table and disable that line…. BUT….
…that doesn’t stop the pup-pack from “starting up” because in this case the pupb2s driver kicks in and starts the pup-pack when B2S server is used (for directb2s and DOF support).
So you would also need to use one of the methods on this page to stop the pup-pack from starting up:
http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=pinup_optional
I prefer Option 2 (and I fought tooth and nail to get that added) because it works with everything when using Popper.
Terry,
Like I said, I tried to normal approach that I normally use – AND set Pinup to = 0 and it still was loading the pup. But now that you explained why, I can go try apprach #2 and see if that works.
Thanks.

March 21, 2020 at 12:48 pm in reply to: Total Nuclear Annihilation – Welcome to the Future Edition #168266Made a quick wheel for the Pup version. Its a slightly modified version that came with GTXJoe’s original table. This way you can keep both in the same cab.

These look fantastic, they also work really well on my dmd screen as the default video.
@HiRez00 would you consider doing ones for other manufacturers in the same style because they do look brilliant?
Thanks again.
I will try to make some others as time permits.

Cool. Started working on a brand new original topper for this table to match the style and look of the table because I think it deserves it.
Didn’t want to “recycle” any footage or videos … so I started working on something special and specifically made for this table.
Might be a few days before it’s done, but I will post here when it’s finished.

Amazing work guys! It’s great you you did a graphics update to an existing table but added a ton of new features and things that made it basically a totally NEW and different game to play. Love the “Afraid of the Dark” feature!
Definitely added to my favorites list immediately.
Wanted to ask, someone in an earlier post asked if there was a topper video done and it was suggested that there was on the pinup popper server, but can’t seem to find it anywhere on there, or I am looking in the wrong place.
If there isn’t a topper already made, I was going to offer to make one for this very special table. Because this table is an original work, I thought it appropriate to ask permission to go ahead and make one, unless one is already being made or is already done …
Please advise.

Perfect!! Thanks again @hirez00 !!
NICE!!!
I like your “apron”. Is that part of the video or is it an overlay taking up the space between your cab edge and the screen?

If you’re seeing the video in PinballX and it turns off when you start up the actual table, that is an easy fix.
Go to Game Manager for Pinball X and go to the settings for this particular table. Right under the table file link and the table name / description and company info there are a couple of check boxes for Enable, Hide Backglass, Hide DMD and Hide Topper.
If you are using these videos on your DMD, make sure “Hide DMD” is unchecked. This means that any video running on the dmd in Pinball X will continue to stay on that screen when you launch the table.
You should ONLY use this option on tables that don’t use the DMD during gameplay.

Just finished installing my new flipper, slingshot, and bumper DOF system (upgraded from Sainsmart Boards) and this was the very first new table I loaded up.
Made the advised script changes and installed the new music rom mentioned in a previous post … and WOW!
This table is absolutely awesome … what a difference!
Great job, Siggi!!!
Thank you for all your hard work. Your playfield / table updates / upgrades are always GREAT!

This looks really nice! I know the description says “Load selected videos and images files into PinballX or other front end program”, but I’m not sure where to place this file for running straight from VPX. Also, what else do I need to set/change in order to get this running in VPX?
Thanks!
I don’t think you can display topper videos and DMD videos if you are running the table “straight from VPX”. VPX will play the table and backglass only. You need to use a front end system like PinballX or PinUp to run the videos as a wrapper container around VPX playing the other files.

wow super beautiful! Unfortunately I don’t have a topper, but I love, what you did here.
If you have a virtual DMD you can always run it on that seeing this table doesn’t use the DMD at all.

January 13, 2020 at 9:27 am in reply to: Attack From Mars (Bally 1995) DELUXE Topper+DMD+Wheel Kit #158431Absolutely awesome looking! Is there any chance of some 21:9 versions in future? (to match our topper standard)
RustyCardores,
Didn’t know 21:9 was the standard for toppers. I’m running a 1280x 360 (720) topper screen that all the toppers I’ve been making have be set up for.
https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=42442
In the future, I will try to incorporate a 21:9 version as well.

December 27, 2019 at 4:27 pm in reply to: The Walking Dead (Stern 2014) 2 Screen + 3 Screen Backglass #155978Keep forgetting – this is pro, premium or le ?
This one is for pro version. I think. LE has a chain link fence overlay that looks kind of weird.

December 25, 2019 at 7:19 am in reply to: Stern Pinball – DMD Collection 1977-2025 – Complete #155688Going from the first logo to the second. Anyone know at what time (year) this happened ?
Thalamus,
I am actually not sure. I generally try to match the logo style based on the backglass. ie: Meteor (Stern 1979) what I call “Stern 2” while a table like The Walking Dead uses what I call “Stern 5”.
Having the different styles and coloring makes it nice so at least with “Non DMD Tables” there is something relevant filling the otherwise empty DMD space on the cab.

December 21, 2019 at 12:14 pm in reply to: AC-DC – Back in Black (Stern 2012) Topper+DMD Kit #155197Hey @hirez00 , this is some quality work you’re putting out, very attractive videos! Helpful extras too, even if I have just a plain real DMD and no topper. I may have to rethink the topper idea after all..
Thanks!
Here is a link to a forum thread I did about making a topper screen using a 1280×390 display.
