Thanks for this, another great game.
I’m having a go at adding a tape HiScore (as my friends love beating my rubbish scores) it’s not that straighforward with a rom game but I have it mostly working except the bally.vbs is intercepting the startgame button to enter initials, any ideas would be welcome

I absolutely love this table
Just had 1 tiny issue with a slow ball getting stuck on the ramp behind Frankenstein before it joins the wires. Extending Wall 29 a bit to the left fixed it for me

@grunger
If you have a real one of these can you take a picture of the stand underneath or just measure it. Mine is missing and I bodged it but have no idea if it is the right size

Thanks Thalamus, Yeah is is pretty rare to see these bugs as you needed to knock a ball that was scoring 100 at the top out of the scoring zone and score something else before the active ball also scored. Only found it during an automated “burn-in” test. Then was manually moving some balls around and found they could fit between the pins in a couple of places.
Little tweaks, but it should now be more robust and it is closer to the real board now with the bigger ball. There is even a place on the playfield that a ball can get stuck and needs a nudge to free it but the real thing is the same

Updated to V1.3 as there were a couple of weird bugs and the ball was just slightly too small and could slip through the pins in a couple of places

I have managed to score ZERO
and only got one ball. First shot straight into the Game Over pins

V1.2 is up with quite a few fixes. Test ran for a couple of hours and it looks good on my setup. Hopefully this will be the last bugfix for a while

@bietekwiet I don’t have real nudge or a plunger on my cab either (maybe future upgrade) but the play is quite authentic without it.
BTW I have v1.2 working just running some burn in tests to check for these rare scoring cases. So far it is looking good, I even saw a bounce out from one score to another on the last ball and that was fine. Should release later today

Hi All,
I have found another bug that happens rarely when a ball bounces in and out of a scoring zone. Then the score reels don’t update the score properly until the next ball, if it is the last ball then the score is lost. I’m looking at adding some debugs and improving the scoring code which will be in the next version
I knew this was going to be a learning experience, my first table

Hi All,
Update with changes suggested by @stefanaustria done so with any luck those with issues will now be up and running.
@jfr1 The wand-spoon thing is a wooden cue. I have one with the table but have no idea what the reason for it was when there was a perfectly good plunger. Looking back at the history I think the first games had no plunger then they added one and changed the scoring to be double scores with the plunger or half with the cueThe triangle of pins on the left gives you back all “lost” balls, the square on the right is game over
I’m glad you are all having fun, as mentioned by some others I also won’t be playing it the most on my cab but thought it was an important part of pinball history that was missing and I had a table to copy…. but it is strangely addictive and great for the younger (or older) ones

Think I have fixed it, it helps to RTFM

@warbler33 Thanks for the advice, I’m having a good check of the code today
@jfr1 It should not be long before you can play with any luck. The first pin is spring steel which kicks the ball off to the side ( and falls out of the wood in the real board )You need to login in order to like this post: click here
Progress Report.
- Playfield tidied up
- Various Pin Sounds recorded from the original and added to script
- Cup sound recorded and added
- Some code tweaks for the “Replay balls” and “Game over” pins
- Tweaked code for kicker firing more than 1 ball at a time
NEED HELP!
Trigger.DestroyBall seems to be really flakey, sometimes it is fine othertimes it leaves balls behind on the playfield when I reset the game. If I fire the same call from the debugger again it works?? If I fire it a few times at the start of the game it mostly clears the balls up. Am I missing a trick to remove all of the balls or to make sure they have really gone?
Other than that it is playing really well, almost the same as the origninal

Right.
I have made a start and slowly getting to grips with how the editor works I think. Version 1 will require a bit of tweaking I’m sure to fix code errors of a newbie
So far I have an extremely rough stitch of the playfield, pins and scoring done. I think the scale is about right,
I have a couple of questions if anyone can advise
Is changing the playfield dimensions the only way to scale the balls?
The ball shadow seems to be way off, what have I messed up?Still lots to do

This was inspired by Ballyhoo which I was playing with today
