Ha, well hot damn. These look mighty fine. If they don’t work for you @bord, at the very least they will make my job much easier. Thanks @miguelcerca!

@bord Yeah man, I would love to take a stab at it. Send me the scans and I’ll see what we are working with. We are expecting baby #2 around Christmas and trying to finish the basement before then so it might take me a few months when I can squeeze things in here and there, but I’m always down to help out.Â

Loserman, you spoil us. Can’t wait to get my chime setup for these classics. Thank you!

If this is anything like the boardgame, I can’t wait to spend 4 hours trying to make ends meet only to be put out on my ass without a dime to my name. All by the hands of a 12 year old who seemingly obtained a Master’s in economics overnight. Thanks 32, I guess…Â

I played it for a hot second on randr’s cab and can’t wait to get home to put it on my rig. Well done all!

Whatever you do, I’d be happy to help with graphics.

Bummer I couldn’t make it out. There is always next time! I catch the express bus to downtown right across from Blainbrook and it is far too tempting to go in after the stress of a workday and burn a few dollars on some classics.

A bit late to the party but glad to see you made an account on here. I’ve enjoyed your videos up until this point (I’m the guy that mentioned I’m giving SSF a go in your parts video). Welcome to the community, you’ll find we are all here for the love of the build, and the enjoyment of the game after it is all said and done.

@outhere @BorgDog Thanks for the clarification. Definitely something to consider moving forward.

I went with the same idea all real pinball parts probably because I already had them (I’m glad I did)…Plus I added more…..

@outthere Definitely diggin’ your build. Same question as I had for Bord. How did you power your coils while still sending the necessary relay to DOF?

There is a less-used alternative that I really like. Actual flipper coils/assemblies. If you watch ebay you can find a pair for $30/$40. These have EOS switches so you don’t have the overheating issue, plus they feel/sound like the real deal (because they are). I have a set of early 80s Gottliebs in my setup and love them. I also use actual slingshot and bumper mechs.
@Bord that was definitely my original thought, but I wasn’t quite sure how you would power the 50v coils while at the same time sending a signal to the board without frying it. Originally I had thought about a EOS switch solution like those found in most games that have flipper controlled lane changes. I decided against that as I figured there would be a slight delay between hitting the button and the plunger triggering the 5v relay. The next time you have your cab open I would love to see a picture of your wiring. You need to login in order to like this post: click here
I have extras I’m never going to use if you want? I’ll look up what I paid for them but I think they were like 10 bucks each
Absolutely! I’ll PM you.

Circling back to this after checking out @randr’s setup last weekend. The Siemens contactors that seem most popular with people’s builds are in high demand on eBay. I’m curious if people smarter than me from the standpoint of wiring and DOF integration would know if these would be a sufficient alternative. The 30/40 amp seems like it would cause problems, especially when the more widely used I believe are just 12.

It was a pleasure finally meeting that guy in all the videos that first got me jazzed about what my cab could be. Lest we not forget Mrs. randr as well. You both are wonderful company!

I had a chance to play it last night, everything turned out great! Thanks a ton @bord for letting me be a part of it. It honestly gave me new drive to finally finish my cabinet and play some other classics again.

Looks great, I can’t wait to give it a try. I’m still amazed that a cabinet that only saw 10 total production units will live forever in visual pinball infamy.

Happy to announce that this redraw is done! I gave @bord a preliminary image to test in blender a few days ago and I’m sure there will be some minor adjustments down the road to make sure things line up perfectly. Seeing as how he did all the hard work for this table so I’ll let him share those screens. It’s been an experience, and I’m just glad I was given the opportunity to contribute to such a wonderful community. I’ll try not to go so long between updates the next time around.

Tonight’s progress shot. I can see a dim light at the end of this redraw tunnel.
