Capt. Card is a 1973 EM with a symmetrical layout, great art, and a ton of drop targets. Probably my favorite symmetrical layout in all of pinball. It is a great example of how Gottlieb often used a kicker hole at the center of a playfield to create an element of havoc in an otherwise predictable game. Complete suits to increase playfield scoring and hit the center saucer to collect bonus.
This project is courtesy of loserman76’s script and backdrop, a nice playfield scan from the web, and rothbauerw’s help with flipper physics. Thanks!

August 23, 2019 at 3:02 pm #142945That preview looks absolutely fantastic. I think you need to make some more narrated blender guides
Thank you so much Bord, Roth and LM for giving us such gifts. I can’t help it, but, once a table has been given the extra love, it just stands out more and gets to be played more often. Err … except for Dipsy Doodle and friends. Those I still play almost each time I head over to the pin still.

August 23, 2019 at 4:09 pm #142960Thankyou, I removed a lot of the older tables from my setup however this one is straight back in. Graphically lovely and excellent lighting really makes these simple layouts a piece of art and turns them into credible vpx tables.
Great work! You need to login in order to like this post: click here

No plans for Fast Draw, I’m afraid but a bunch of scanned assets would certainly nudge me in that direction.

August 23, 2019 at 9:07 pm #142987Great work as usual @bord! I agree that Capt. Card is a great player, there was one at the pinball show earlier this year and I went back to it many times for more games. Add-a-balls are great. layout is pretty similar to the later Count-Down which is also a great machine, likely never leaving my collection, drop target games rule.
