@Nailbuster with your latest beta I finally had the chance to try the autrecord function.
It works like a charm, and this autorecord feature and ALL the other small details like auto renaming the media files with one click,
or drag and drop the media stuff, or just the option to open the corresponding folder and so on and so on ….. makes the user’s life so much easier!
You really have a sense where things can be improved.I wanted to send a big thank you for all this.
A lot of stuff which has been much work before is now a fun thing to do.

June 6, 2018 at 10:42 am #87753@NailBuster I’m trying to use this in Desktop mode for the Stranger Things table, is there any way to get the player to stay on top? I have it in the corner of VPX but it will lose focus if I switch to VPX, haven’t found an option for it.

It’s already been discussed and will happen….but Nailbuster would know better when….
…in the mean time…its still fine to install using this current installer…
….and update to 1.3.4:
http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=release_notes
and simply install dmdext 1.7 afterward and make the required changes:

Yes, the PinUP System installer was updated and now up to date (as of today).
I keep a running changelog here: http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=release_notes
Biggest reason for new installer was to NOT install/mess around with Freezy DLL as Freezy now has native support for PinUP. Freezy v1.7.1 should to be up and working prior to PinUP System install.
And PinUP default theme (Tarcisio’s Theme) is now with new installer.

September 7, 2018 at 2:56 pm #97560Pinup System (Popper and Player ) 1.3.6 now available!
The brand new 1.3.6 Installer is now available!
The installer will start with v.1.3.6 and the awesome Tarcisio Caleiro Theme as the new default. See the changelog for info.
(remember to unblock zip in windows 10 before unzipping!)
http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php…
The installer no longer installs any freezy files or any version of dmddevice.dll, so you will need to install freezy 1.71 (32 bit x86 files only!!!) yourself to your VPinMAME folder. This should be done before hand, but can also be done afterward if needed.
For those who just need to update to 1.3.6, the update files are available at the wiki:
http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=release_notes.
(remember to unblock zip in windows 10 before unzipping!)
Note: Those who are just “updating” to 1.3.6, are required to copy the new dmddevicePUP.dll to your VPinMAME folder. This is needed to support new PuPCapture features such as “Exact Colour Match” and extending the PuPCapture limit from 90 to 500.
The upcoming Transformers PuP-Pack “requires” this complete update to 1.3.6, and freezy 1.71.

September 8, 2018 at 1:53 pm #97740After I escape the game and go back to the menu
There is a 2 or 3 second wait – you are not allowed to stroll for more games
if I attempted Then the menu freezes up and you have to control alt delete
I think it has been this way since the 1st version – Can this be change?

The wiki has loads of stuff you can customize…
http://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=custom_options
DelayReturn=2000 set to delay startup of menu after game in ms, some hardware dmd , DOF and slower systems need to ‘wait’ after vpx/emu closes to re-init all those devices.

Why not try changing DelayReturn to a very low value? That’s what I do and I can use the menu almost instantly.
You can also try to changing the values on the Close Script for VPX,etc…
“[STARTDIR]LAUNCH\PUPCLOSER.EXE” WINTIT “Visual Pinball” 10 1

* 3rd = Timeout Seconds: if title is found it sends the close command to it and waits this many seconds before. If title closes it will exit, or if it timesout it will determine to KILL or not from 4th option.
* 4th = 0/1 if set to 1 will KILL exe of title/proc… if 0 it will do nothing
* 5th = return pause in seconds. On exiting will wait to send menu ‘wakeup’PuPCloser allows you to choose how and when the return to the menu will happen.

September 8, 2018 at 3:38 pm #97754Just installed this and I seem to have figure most of the things out already. But, I can’t seem to find a volume setting for my table audio. I don’t want them to play at max volume in the menu. I’m sure that his has been asked before so sorry for asking again. And the installer. It would be best if it made some association between *.pup and a text editor.

In Global Settings there is a Startup Volume setting…and for Attract there is also another Volume Setting.
The PuP Playfield Screen also has a Default Volume Setting….not sure how that plays into the above settings though.

it can be done in script (pup). on startup function you want to add line like this for 50%
PuPlayer.setVolume(pMusic,50);

Keep in mind that with Popper your other videos can also play audio as well, where as in PBX I think you could only have either the PF video play audio, or the Audio file play… but not BG.

October 2, 2018 at 4:12 pm #100094Some quick things that we’ve seen from initial testers:
If you have issues closing-out VPX via Popper (exit emulator should be instant)…. You must run PINUPMENU.EXE AS ADMIN if you are running other apps also as ‘admin’. If you are not running other apps as admin then leave all PinUP System files as normal.
So if you run into anything weird at first, first try to run pinupmenu.exe as admin and see if that improves..
So, I am running into an issue. MX in Popper only works when I run PinUpMenu NOT as adminstrator (all other apps including VP10 are not run as administrator with the exception of DofLinx). However, game exit from VP doesn’t work. If I run PinUpMenu as administrator then exit works, but MX doesn’t. My exit keys are different for VP10 ([) and PinUpMenu (Q). I’d prefer not to run anything as adminstrator if possible. Any ideas what might be causing the problem? Thanks.
RESOLVED – Had to remove registry entry and re-register DirectOutputComObject.dll.
