How does the virtual versions play versus the real deal @aldiode? I tempted to make a virtual version of this machine, I have so many left over arcade parts laying around already
The VP version made by mfuegmann is very realistic. If I were going to build a virtual ICB cab, that is the way that I would go. Nothing beats the real thing of course.

Okay. This sounds like a fun project. I’m in.
Don’t trade your FishTales. We’re gonna do this.

Me too. I provided the sounds using mine so that he could build that :)

I bought it in November of 2010. It would be no problem for me to photograph, video, or scan any part for you. With the reproduction playfield back available on ebay, the rest would be easy to reproduce. I even have 2 brand new spare motors if you need them.
Let me know what you need and I will get right on it!

I bought mine in a broken down, worn out condition on ebay for $400. My son and I drove out to New Jersey to pick it up (we live in Maine so it was an overnighter :). We put about another $400 into it for new parts, power supply and motherboard repair, control panel overlay, sideart etc (see below).
If it’s just for you to use as a guide to scratch build yours, I would be happy to provide any dimensions, pictures, or other details (inside and out) for you.

Randr,
I would definitely trade my ICB for a Fishtales but it’s not a fair trade as an even deal (not even close.)

Hi Xenonph,
I wanted to take a moment and thank you for this sound mod. I caught myself smiling while playing it just now. I usually get very serious while playing pinball and concentrate intently on hitting my shots as well as experience some level of aggravation when I miss a shot or drain a ball. Today, I find myself smiling of all things….go figure???
Thanks.

Hey Daryl,
Same problem here. I tried disabling the A91JIT and Direct Draw etc. with no effect.

Hey ALL,
I have used Brad’s services multiple times in the last year with excellent results. I helped my boss to build his own Pincab (see image) Then I couldn’t live with his cabinet being newer and nicer than my own so another one for me. And then a MAME cabinet. Each time the qualify of the print was amazing, fantastic deal, and shipped rapidly. I highly recommend his services.
Thanks Brad!

I had a similar problem in the past with other tables. when you copy an animation that is based on collections. I’m not sure what the problem is, because I imported all the changes I made to diemoniks table not counting the objects found on the collections colLampPoles colLampPoles2 and the tesseract spins, but it wouldn’t spin on my table, even after I re arrange the collection lists to match the original table. here is a version with a spinning tesseract https://mega.nz/#!k8d11IYD!gEz0QhMDGcGs6j4Gl_xHIJMNUEiH_QDjv1lLHWepT-Q
Hi 32,
I noticed that although the tesseract will spin in this version, it is still stuck in place when you hit it from the left side (no matter how hard you hit it). The ball just bounces off the rubber post with no motion of the cube (unless it bounces into the right side post)
Thanks

Thanks for another great table for VPX. Like Pookamoondo and Scooby, my buck does not move when it is supposed to. Additionally, I noticed that the pin is always up and blocking entrance to the bird hole and the Elk gate is always open. I deleted my NVRAM to see if that would help to no avail. When trying the Physmod version, I do not experience any of these troubles.
Thanks Again!

Thanks for a great table!
Most of the time the teseract rotates toward the collision of the ball rather than away from it as you would expect. I had to throw balls at the posts in the player to confirm that what I was seeing is true.
Any idea how to correct this?
Thanks for your help!

- What add-on software do I need to make my PIN2DMD work? It says that I’m missing a driver and the game will hold. Pressing F1 and disabeling the realDMD option works but now I’m missing the DMD.
Thank you!
Jopp,
You will need the drivers for your Pin2DMD from the official release of VPM which you can find here.

Having replaced my real pinball machines with a VP cabinet I guess that I would say yes it can. Let me explain….
I owned a 1969 Gottlieb Spin a Card, 1978 Bally Silverball Mania, and a 1980 Williams Black Knight. All were purchased in excellent condition and worked beautifully (for quite a while). I came to learn that a pinball is a miniature missile that can and will break things when it wants to. As my 30-40 year old machines started having problems over time, I had to have a budget for repairs (both money and time).
Part of my daily ritual became searching on ebay for NOS parts that I could buy on the cheap just in case something broke down. Then things got worse when my children became old enough to start playing pinball. Have you ever seen a young kid play? They constantly run both flippers at a high rate of speed for absolutely no reason most of the time they are playing. It’s absolutely maddening to watch children beat your beloved pinball machines like that.
The end for me was when we would spend 20-30 minutes playing pinball and another 1-2 hours fixing pinball. It got to the point where we hardly played anymore for fear of what might break down next. It became less fun and more like work to play pinball.
Then I discovered VP. I sold all of my real machines to fund the build of my cabinet and have never looked back. I play daily. Sometimes for hours and NEVER have a problem. Other than an upgraded video card once in a while to keep up with new VP releases (and the new color DMD) I have not had to spend a dime or any of my time to keep things working so that I could keep playing. I no longer shudder when a young person is pounding away at the flippers. I know that they can’t hurt my VP cab so no more stress over repairs.
Is it exactly the same as real pinball? No…. but it’s close enough to make you forget that you are not playing a real pinball machine when you are having a great game. My kids and I make a yearly trip to Pinball Wizards (about 120 miles from our home) to play real pinball. They keep their 100 or so pinball machines in great working order but it never fails that we find a few machines that are out of order, have weak flippers, or some other feature that is not working the way it should when we are there. It always reminds me why I love my VP cab so much! When we get back home we always make a point to play the games that we could not play on our trip.
For me, VP is better than real pinball. I used to have room and money for 3 real pinball machines. Now I have more room and money for hundreds of machines. As the technology progresses, it’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference. Do I still like playing real pinball? Sure … as long as someone else is doing the maintenance!

Update. I plan on hopefully, one last update for the initial release. The captured ball issue is fixed. Resolved a few more lighting issues. Randr is doing a quick prim tweak on the apron wire which I want to get in this rev. Look for it maybe tonight or tomorrow.
Bill,
Your customer service dept. is off the charts amazing!
Thanks

Thanks for the great table Bill. I was going to ask if anyone else is losing their Daffy Duck captive ball but I see that it happens during Laylow’s gameplay video above just before the 2:00 minute mark. After hitting the ball upwards toward Daffy’s head, it starts to settle downward and then by the time you lose the ball you are playing it disappears altogether and does not come back unless and until you exit and re-start the table. Where does it go?
