thanks a lot! i used to own the pin, and its way underrated and has even a very clever ruleset that is pretty deep.

but seems most ppl are put off by the weird sound and music (not including me :)).

      great table recreation!!

          Hi again!

Unfortunately some dumps seem to be empty: blackhol2.bin, hustler.bin, lluck1_s2.bin and vegas_s2.bin

Any chance you could redump these? Thanks!

            Thanks a lot!

If you have additional resources (like photographs of plastics/playfield, manual/schematic scans, etcetcetc) then this would also be nice to have!

apart from that there is nothing else.

the pinball ROM code is software like anything else that runs for example on a normal PC, so its not trivial to simply skip something in there without leading to side-effects.

fast frames is the amount of emulated DMD frames that will be emulated as fast as your CPU allows for.

so you have to experiment for each machine what you can use there, usually its in the multiple 100s or 1000s range.

rol and ror you usually only need if you use a rotated TV in your cabinet backbox so that you counter-rotate the virtual DMD.

everything else should pretty much be already setup “optimally” by default.

in addition, if your machine is up to it and you have very good ears, you could change the sample rate to 96000 and/or change the new “Resampling Quality” to 1.

You can also just PM me here.

I do not know if the machines (so the basic system of that era) are already emulated, but definetly the ROMs we do not have for these specific machines!

Would be terrific to get them!

Yup, basically each sound has a code that is remapped to the sound file.

I can also recommend the new JP remaster, plus the MM remaster from the original sources (e.g. MMR).

i know i’ll also sound like a broken record, but the thing is that a) i do not want to abort VPX yet, simply because it still has more potential in it and stuff that we can implement to increase gfx-realism ‘easily’, b) its more fun to code in your own engine and c) switching over to a new engine ‘from scratch’ is most likely not something that fuzzel and me can (and want?) to do in our spare time on our own.

you need somebody with enough continuous spare time on its hands, like mukuste or tmek did have back then when they did the work they did. otherwise its really really hardcore to keep the motivation and finish it all up in the end.

Good thinking! I followed this stuff as it was in the making.. I hope they continue with that as some of the info is really really new..

For example i still hope that somebody will figure out the mysterious Batman Forever easter egg they mentioned..

Neat! I also remember playing this one back in the days. Thanks for bringing it back to live.

(Which reminds me also of the awesome PC Judge Dredd pinball.. Anybody care to redo this one??)

..but only if you set the ‘cheat’ setting in the registry for this game to ‘1’

(or enable the ‘Skip Pinball Startup Test’ in the tom_14h game options UI)

rom 1.4 should actually work AFAIK.

oh yeah, Johnny Mnemonic, that would rock!

                                            also Gilligans Island!

okay, no, but maybe a new Shadow? Or White Water?
