It’s like flupper’s WW – let them be. Now we have both Terry and Randr beta testing it. (I expect a few more) Let them find and improve the front-end so it becomes the last thing we ever need :) They know what is needed and Nailbuster is competent enough to implement.
:) Agreed We’re definitely focusing on getting the main stuff locked down…having it out there in the wild right away would just make for frustration all around. Better to keep it focused…and then branch out.
I suppose you are right, especially the amount of people that would be trying it. But maybe when you get close to a release candidate, you could include a few more people in a larger test pool, just so you have more configurations at hand. I won’t mention any names but I know someone that wouldn’t mind.

I’ve been checking all the popper thread(s) thrice daily for 3 weeks for updates. I’m so excited. I’m ready guys. Let’s get me a beta build :) Terry Amazing Vid, Nailbuster, you’ve got some skill!
What he said.

I’m looking more forward to this than any table release.

Amazing! I wish I could get my cab to look like this. Everything I’ve seen from angles to lighting looks spot on.

Same here. I don’t really understand why they do what they do, which is too bad. Otherwise they would have a lot more people creating alternate sounds.
Hopefully someone comes up with a similar way to change sounds without Pinsound. I checked their forums and all I hear is crickets.

February 28, 2018 at 7:52 am in reply to: zen pinball fx cab with full touchscreen and force feedback #78091If they didn’t have such a crappy menu system and actually fixed it to work with just flipper buttons, then they wouldn’t need a touch screen. On the other hand, some of their fx3 tables are really well done. A lot more content and table changes than in the past. I’m still finding new things on tables all the time. I see Rusty’s comment, but he obviously hasn’t played all the tables.
FX3 isn’t meant to replace VPX, but it’s a nice change not to hit one ramp and some targets over and over again without anything happening on the table. Not to mention the graphics updates on FX3 are huge improvement. Jurassic Park series is really fun.
I’m wondering if they took DDH69’s work to do this? If they were smart, they would just hire him.

Thanks! For PuP related videos, is 21:9 used? That was also a consideration.
I didn’t go 1920 because I couldn’t find good 1920 resources for most video I needed and also couldn’t see any difference at my screen size, and I already run a 4k screen, 1920×1080 backglass. The file size difference is huge. I don’t know if me trying to upscale is a good idea compared to letting the lcd upscale if people are really running 1920 toppers.

The solution to me seems like a viable one. Said it over at vpf that for me the main problem is that the setup itself builds quite a lot. I would simply not have room for it. I just upgraded my plunger to Zebs’ V2 and I must say. I would love to have BorgDog do a review of it. He know Zeb’s v1 and Pinscape first hand. Personally I was really happy with my old setup, but, well it didn’t survive rough treatment over time. The new one with the 3d printed housing is something I really recommend for anyone that has limited space and don’t want to have to solder anything. Yes – its almost like a commercial, but, once a product is this good I don’t have a problem with recommending it for free.
Yes, Zeb’s solution is a good one. Just a little expensive if you already have a controller. $110 vs ~$15. Space wise, I had plenty of room for a mouse (you can use any length stick you want so you can put the mouse way into your cab). Or use the old strap method and you can even angle it down towards middle of cab.

Expensive mouse is not needed. Low dpi is still very accurate and far more data than needed, especially considering this use case. There’s only so many positions (redraws) in the virtual plunger. It’s surprisingly inexpensive and easy to setup. (Bracket, paint or popsicle stick, and something to hold the mouse to bracket. No soldering, extra wires, firmware, etc. To me this is the go to solution. No reason to overthink it.

I’ve never liked other versions and left them off my table.
I tried this version last night, and wow! Great work! Definitely a keeper.
And now I’m just as bad at this as when I played it in the arcade.

December 18, 2017 at 8:01 pm in reply to: Lesser known features of VPinMAME – alternate soundtrack remixes #71559Sorry to bring up an older thread.
Before I try another mod to my tables, is there a reason to start and shut down Pinsound Studio after each table, instead of leaving it running in the background? I’m assuming yes judging by CarnyPriest and TerryRed’s comments, but want to make sure.

Thanks, I was confused because it said updated May 27th so I thought that was the initial release.
Appreciate the help and clarification.

I was wondering if there is a link for the latest wip. I have the orginal posted from May, but I see a lot has been done.
I noticed the file had been pulled from the dropbox link. Thank you, and fantastic table.

Thanks DJRobX, because i have a 2 Screen Cab only. Thank you Dozer … and of course, thanks again TerryRed
You can still configure with your setup. Pinup is very flexible. This particular table you can go into the scrip and disable one of the two screens. (You’ll probably want to keep the backglass one). Then when the pinup calls happen, it will just replace your backglass with the video and then automatically go back to your backglass when done. Very cool stuff.
