Here’s what I’ve been up to the last several weeks of staying at home. I dug out a resin garage-kit of the police spinner from my favorite film – Blade Runner. I have had the kit on the shelf for literally 12 years waiting for the right time to work on it. The kit was not at all designed for lighting so I have had to make some heavy modifications to it. Lots of cutting and filing etc. It took me about a solid week of work to build the electronics for the lighting. The model currently has 57 led’s in it including selectable flash patterns for the police lights. The spinner is 1/12 scale so it’s about 17 inches long. I also just finished totally scratch building a street light from the movie (which I think turned out pretty great) complete with lit up display monitors to use in the diorama I am working on. I also plan to build a scale model of the White Dragon Noodle Bar. The spinner model is about 90% complete right now. I’ve been having a lot of fun with the project…

March 21, 2020 at 10:47 pm in reply to: Total Nuclear Annihilation – Welcome to the Future Edition #168389My z-order issue was resolved by making sure the files from the pinup popper 1.44 update were all unblocked. I already loved this table and now it is just incredible with the new pup pack! =)

March 21, 2020 at 1:55 pm in reply to: Total Nuclear Annihilation – Welcome to the Future Edition #168283Great work on this. It’s amazing!!
I seem to have to ‘alt-tab’ to bring pup screen 11 up. I played around with the pup-pack settings to try to force it up, but then it covers the DMD and that does not display. Anyone else running into this issue?
I am having the same issue with the Z-order of the pup-screens.

Have you tried hitting the F1 key and making sure the ROM sounds are turned on?

That looks great Gwen, makes me want a topper even more. My problem is one of space, there’s not a lot of room above my pincab. How much space you would say a topper requires on top of your backbox?
Thanks =). If you look at the photos on page 7 of my cabinet page you can see my topper I added recently. It’s a 7″ USB monitor. In the frame I made it takes up about 8″ total width and is about 5 3/8″ high. I mounted it on the top edge of the backbox shifted up so it’s not taking up space on the front face of the backbox. Of course you will have to find a solution that fits your setup, but that’s what I did. If there is anything else I can do to help don’t hesitate to ask.

Not sure what you mean but I hope it’s good =) (I’m thinking maybe Roger Corman?)

I did make a number of sketches of my initial ideas. I’ll have to look around to see if I still have them. As far as the work in progress – yes, this forum thread is my record of the construction once I actually got it started. I knew I wanted to try and find some original antique furniture parts to use in my construction, especially for the top of the backbox. And one day I got lucky while shopping at the “Re-Store” in town… sort of a recycled home improvement center. I picked up the cabinet top scrolls for $8, and a bunch of brass knobs for 50 cents each. The inlaid brass scrollwork I did on the lockdown bar was inspired by the Pinball FX3 Tesla table, and the gold pinstriping and painted scrollwork came to me while I was building my time machine model.
Mainly I wanted to build a nice virtual pinball cabinet that was also an homage to Nikola Tesla and his works. The idea was sort of “What if Tesla had invented modern pinball, and some much more advanced technologies than he really had, and he decided to build a machine to show the world the future in a different way, but with the general aesthetics of his time?” I wanted it to look like what he might have built. So I actually looked at photos of many of his inventions built into small cabinets etc. for inspiration.

Wondering if you had a moment when you realized you had to build this…or if it grew over time. Are there drawings? Backstory? Was there a wip? This is such an amazing build and a testament to our extremes. Thanks!!
Yeah, really I realized I had to do this as soon as I was really committed to building a pincab.

OK, cool beans – I disabled the system favorites list and added a SQL query to the home list so now I have more control over things, just as you said. Thanks again Nailbuster for the truly massive amount of work you have put into the pinup popper system. I really do appreciate it.

When you open pinup popper one of the playlist selections is “Favorites” which selects all tables you added to global favorites. I am referring to this list. Is there a way to set the options for it in the same way as you would for any playlist?

Ah, oh, I think I misunderstood the relationship between “Home” and “Favorites” I thought they were the same. The topper and other things seem to work from there, but not the audio.
Is there a way to set playlist options specifically for Favorites?
