      Version 1.1 is up!

      Version 1.1

      Herweh
      – Sarcopharc now spits the ball onto the right upper flipper like Scotty VH discribed. Thanks Scotty! We made it work only about 50% of the time otherwise this could be used as an “exploit” for the Sarcopharc.
      – Kickback adjusted
      – GI-OFF is now properly displayed in the 1st second after table load (I think this shows the endless patience of Herweh when working with me!!)

      Schreibi34
      – Complete physics overhaul including the ramp shot. It’s still difficult and you still need a clean shot! Entry is now 12% wider and more flat where it touches the PF. I was even able to reduce the flipper strength to 2900 which makes the table a little less “videogame’ish”
      – I went back to my old materials which are using the elasticity fall off more. I’m really happy with the outcome!
      – Reduced the amount of BG reflection on the transparent plastic above the bumpers.

        Great stuff ! :yes:

        I think I have some more shapes, if you want I’ll send then for a possible future update

        Tip: I use to add a black frame on them , this make a lot easier to shape the insert in vpx as the black dont take light

        More shapes are always welcome!

        I think it would be easier to maintain when you upload it yourself. If we put it here you will always need me to add more inserts. There is already a insert collection somewhere. Can’t remember who provided it. So just add another one!

          Looks great so far!

          The way you have set up the back box you could easily replace the to monitors with one 32″ in portrait position. This would enable you to have a DMD and a 1:1 backglas that is not squeezed. I would at least think about it while doing the wood work. Make sure you can replace them later as an upgrade! Only problem are the speakers!

            @Scotty VH

            When i raise the flipper strength the orbit shot is way too fast. Let’s see if @Herweh can fix the Sarcopharc thing and i will then add a physics fix for the ramp / orbit problem!

              Thanks for the info Scotty! The “right” flipper is the upper right flipper? Did i get this right?

                Maybe we should limit the ball jump value so they don’t fly all across the table?

                No gamepads and nudge sensors on my cab and no issues. So it’s possible.

                  I have a big collection of prerendered inserts. The ones i used on DW. If you guys need them, let me know. I will upload them sometime next week anyway!

                    The ball does jump over it on the real table. For me it locks the ball 8 out of 10 times. I’ll have a look!

                      I will have a look at the ramp physics next week! The problem is that the orbit shot is already a bit to fast! I think it can be tuned to play a bit more like the real thing!

                        Flipper strength to 3100 would also be possible without messing up the gameplay!

                          @Dark

                          I don’t really feel like the angle is the main problem. The main problem is the head movement and the reflections not moving with it. If you really think about it VPXI would not be the solution for this. It would eliminate the angle POV problem, but with the camera not moving the reflections would still look like a decal! BAM headtracking or VR in combination with VPXI would be the only 100% solution!

                            I have an issue: the ball is brown/black, never shiny silver no matter if I replace ball image and/or decal.

                            I am sure the brown is not an “easter egg” is it?

                            Is there a way I can solve this?

                            I fixed it by copying the ball and light settings from the TOTAN table.

                            Biggest culprit on the lighting settings were ambient and emittive color of lighting not set to black.

                            It looks like this now:

                            IMG_20200413_125705

                            The lighting settings shouldn’t have much effect on the table but could have an effect on the ball. So why not! Not sure why black emitting light makes the ball more shiny but it seems to help!

                              I am having trouble with the rom “frankst”. I updated to the new VPinMame 3.3 and installed, but the sound is extremely garbled and repeats itself.

                              I’ve only heard repeating sounds on previous tables when the framerate droped way below 60fps. Shouldn’t happen with 3.3, right? Try to turn off all reflections and AA just to see if that helps.

                                What you guys could try is to move the Day/Night slider to the right. All visible prims have the Disable Lightung set to 0,75 which means that the ball will get bright much faster then the prims. If the table gets a bit to bright you could replace one of the LUT images with one that makes the table slightly Darker again.

                                        Yes thats true! The process of rendering the PF with a perspective makes it necessary to rotate/ stretch the PF from a trapezoid to it’s original rectangular shape. In Krita this can only be done manually as more of an analog process. Thats the closest i could get. If anybody with PS knowledge wants to correct that go for it!
