Thank you for the work and the release, this was one of the top table still on vp9 on my cabinet, now playable in vpx, great stuff :)

i have made an update of the script, with soundfx fixes, added rgb undercab action for dof, the updated script is here

Just taken the release today, very nice, graphic and physics, the release was better than i expected thanks a lot :)

i have added some soundfx fixes to the script, and added a custom dof effect, that goes along with the config in the configtool that i published today, this is for rgb undercab, here is the update script

          Hello,

Thank you for the great and unexpected release, plays and looks great :)

Me and Thalamus adjusted the code fpr dof and ssf, here is the updated script

          https://www.github.com/sverrewl/vpxtable_scripts/tree/master/Playboy%20(Stern%202002)%20v1.0.vbs

If you can do an update with it, it would be great :)

Thank you guys for the release, i didn’t try it yet since the start of the development.

i’m trying to publish the dof config by terry but configtool is having an issue right now, i can’t reach it for the moment, hope it will be fixed soon

I loved the pin, the vp9, excellent theme that goes along with my CastlePin cab, can’t wait :)

There was a problem with the dmd too slow in vpinmame, and it is not a 128*32 if i remember well, but the dmd problems have been solved.

That was with pindmd and pindmd2, we can check if it woeks well with pin2dmd

Thank you @agentEighty6 for the vpx version of the table, plays and look nice :)

I have updated the script, some sounds are not played because of the ccontroller variable is not used anymore, it is instanciated in the controller.vbs, and soundplay is replaced by soundfx in the same vbs.

So i have put soundfx method everywhere it is needed, here is the script update

Thank you @agentEighty6 for the update, it is a special table but i am glad to see a good version of it in vpx :)

I have implemented the soundfx methods in the script, for a better control of the DOF events and digital sounds associated to it, you can find the updated script here

                  https://github.com/sverrewl/vpxtable_scripts/blob/master/Dungeons%26Dragons%20(Bally%201987)%20v1.1.2.vbs

if you can foresee an update of the table with it, it will benefit DOF users.

                  Cheers

I am really impressed by the physics of this mod, plays smoothly as I like, ball is not fast or slow, friction is perfect ;)

I have added controller.vbs implementation according to my tutorial here

                    https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=33453&hl=

                    here is the updated script

                    https://github.com/sverrewl/vpxtable_scripts/commit/f5ddff290ba7732f47144d47cd15a729c94fd3f6

This helps user to not change the script for using b2s backglass automatically based on their vpx settings, and soundfx is to have a global control of the sounds and effects when using DOF force feedback, if you can have a look @Siggi for your future releases, keep them coming, i can play tables like kingpin since your version :)

                          ok guys,

I had time today to work on that, now you don’t have the option to select your rom for a table config in the configtool, the ini will always have all the rom and their aliases into the ini files :)

This was like that even before I was involved in the configtool, but I agree it doesn’t make sense.

I was already thinking about it and will make sure all the rom names will be included in the ini files, soon ;)

about the dof config, i’m not a big fan of the cactus dance to the contactors, they are occupied enough with the rest of the playfield, like that i found it more annoying.

I tested shaker effect instead, S10|S11|S12 m300 I28 in shaker assignment, and removed S10, S11, S12 from the contactor toys, I like it better

What do you think, can I publish? :)

one could you make the rails, yellow sides hideable via script, or with evaluation of the showdt boolean? this could be less authentic, but it renders much better on my cab, so the real side of my pincab is the only side of the table, this is how it looks with just the playfield

Hey @arngrim, I also typically hide sidewalls on my cab, but these yellow ones really complement this game nicely. Try my POV on for size, I think you’ll be pleased with the outcome (just hide the siderails manually on layer 1). Thanks @borgdog for yet another flawless recreation, love the lighting, physics and smooth animations, perfect!

ok, sorry for the wait, the configtool now uses the value given on the port assignment for the chime as well, and i also added a separate duration for the Bell toy ;)

I have also changed the default value to 60ms, like it was supposed to be before, to not confuse the people who are not aware of the change and it’s impact

OK, I have updated the configtool :)

You can now select the default Chime and Knocker duration on the port assignment page.

Currently only the Knocker duration has an influence on the ini files, I will implement the Chimes duration next.

Let me know if it works fine or you have issues ;)

edit : btw i just tried myself knocker at 20 ms on my cab and the impact is lower than usual, setting it at 40 ms works fine for me, i will be tempted to raise the default value to that level, based on the feedbacks ;)

ok got some time and inspiration today, so I would go for this solution, for the moment i would add the knocker and chime duration proposal in the port assignment page, the user can select from a range between 10 and 120 by steps of 10, default value would be 20?

there wouldn’t be global variables since i would add for each assignment of the toy the chosen duration

                                            what do you think?

                                            Untitled
