For the time being you need soundmode=2 plus the PinSound Studio software to run any sound mixes for Whitestar tables.
Yes, unfortunately the PinSound team decided to do some secret sauce sound/music mapping for the Whitestar audio packages, which they do not want to reveal at the moment, so i cannot reproduce it for soundmode=1. Understandable from their side, but also a bit sad.

It looks like if sounds are missing, then it will play the rom ones. I just tried with Indiana Jones, with Sound Mode 1 but removing the altsound folder.
Only if the whole folder is missing, otherwise there is no ‘mixture’ of ROM sounds and alternate sound done, as it’s way too hard (impossible even??) to implement correctly.

Don’t let yourself be pulled down by something like that.
That’s just how normal life works. It’s also even how it works for us VP/(V)PM developers. Sometimes we are lucky and get extremely enthusiastic help like for example from DJRobX, who also stay around for support and questions afterwards, and sometimes we also just get some half-finished patches or ideas from people and then they vanish again quickly and we have to clean up the mess.
So please continue on what you’re doing, especially as you improved so much with your work.

the problem is that this is not a bug but a feature.. :/
but i’d love to have that random thing removed and simply replaced by a fixed X million jackpot. cause you could have the game of your life, but if the jackpot is always randomly picked to be the lowest possible then you’re just screwed.
