I’m still working on it (I can’t stop lol ) and I finally figure out how the contact lens toy works :)
So I did a simple primitive and it works perfect!
Some other small adjustements have been made. The final release should come soon!
Here a gameplay video of the very last WIP version (unfortunately without sound…

I hope you will enjoy

Hope you don’t mind a brutally honest review. I want to be clear that I 100% appreciate what I’m sure was very hard work! I absolutely love some of the things you’ve done. It looks rather fantastic! But the lighting. I just can’t handle it. It’s blinding and distracting. Especially in some of the lighting sequences. I sincerely hope you don’t take any offense! Just one man’s opinion. But, unfortunately, I’m sticking to the non-modded version of this particular table. Do keep up the amazing work!!!
Sorry for the late reply. In fact I had one time a problem like that with this table.
It was the first launch in my pincab. Everything was as expected on my desktop computer and when I launched it in my pincab I got full white bloom for each flashers.
In fact it happens to me only one time (first launch), and when it happened I had many softwares running and probably most of my resources were already taken. I didn’t changed anything but after closing my others apps I never had this problem again.
So I think it was a vpinballx launching issue (bad launch?) or a lake of ressources (memory?). I didn’t change any setting so I don’t think it could be caused by a bad setting.

You are doing an amazing job with this table!!!!!
I am really impressed, keep up the good work.
You have a new fan in me
I cannot thank you enough for the amazing update! Thank you so much Aurel!
Thanks a lot guys :) From you both it means a lot! but I’m even more thankful for all the things you brough to us ;)
I did my best for this table, it took me a lot of time but it was very interresting. I was looking for this table for a very long time and I’m now very pleased to be able to play it in good conditions and share
I think I can’t really do more for this table now, to get something better it would have to be taken by a true vp artist ^^
It was so fun to work on Waterworld and BarbWire that I now want to take a look at Big House
(this table needs more love and its ressources are very nices (and we have now a nice backglass!), it would take a lot of time but this one shouldn’t be very difficult in fact…)

Thanks guys ! New version 1.5 uploaded
I’m very happy to share this update 1.5 because for the first time this table should be truly playable.
And in fact this pinball is very fun: many challenges, many multi-balls. I love it!
Until now the way the BigFatso moved in all the previous versions was wrong enough to kill the game’s rules.
To be clear it plays and looks now far better than expected when I started to rebuild this table :)
But don’t expect to get one of the prettiest vpx tables: the ressources available for this pinball are very limited and not very good. Also I don’t have enough skill to do something really better than that.
– BigFatso would need to be modelized in 3D to look better and to allow a small transparency without having borders (it still looks slightly better using 4xSSAA)
– The “Contact Lens” toy is missing but I still don’t really understand how this toy works (useless btw)
– The sounds (mostly collisions) need to be improved.Changelog :
– BigFatso’s moves should be now fixed and accurate (the game should be now fully playable for the first time!)
– Plunger bug (disappearing after autolaunch) should be fixed
– Flippers length have been reduced (but even like that the gameplay is still very easy)
– Left plastic ramp has been rebuilt to better match the original one.
– Wire ramps have been fully rebuilt to match the original ones
– Red bumper light L30 added and should work like the original one.
– Target S14 added
– Playfield flasher F23 added
– Playfield light L57 added
– Playfield light L50 fixed
– Slingshots animation added
– Left Magna-Save button added to access “Tournament”
– GI lights have been changed (not accurate but should look better)
– Some materials have been changed
– Some plastics have been improved again and reajusted
– The playfield graphics has be improved a little again
– A few mechanical parts have been added to look more “real”
– Some fixes everywhere
…Enjoy

Thanks for the table. Best version till now.
But the metal ramps have the wrong height. You see it only in VR. They lie flat on top of each other.
An update is coming
I made the wire ramps again and they are now accurate and it should fix your issue in VR :)
Some problems have been found :
– Fatso moves don’t work as expected: at this time the first skillshot can’t be achieved for example (It shouldn’t work neither in previous releases of this table)
– One playfield light (L50) wasn’t linked and didn’t work.
– The plunger disapeared after autolaunches
– A playfield flasher was missing
– The bumper light wasn’t liked and didn’t work as expected in the previous versions of this table (and don’t work at all in my previous ones).
I finally found the full technical manual and all the problems above should be fixed in the upcoming release along with many visual improvements.

Very nice and awesome release! Your recreations look always amazing!! Just incredible!
Thanks a lot for all these gifts
Just one visual fix (a forget for sure): “WarriorBugAssembly003” should be added to the “imageswap” collection and set with :
- image : “WarriorBugAss_off”
- material : “Metal_Chrome_alpha”
Without this small fix this target is allways bright and doesn’t change its brightness with the rest.
Thanks again!

My buddy has this table, so let me know if you want any specific pictures from it. He probably would not let me pop out the playfield, but anything else is most likely a yes.
That would be awesome!! Thanks!
In fact a real scan of all these plastics would be awesome (because mines are only taken and redrawn from not good enough pictures…) :
Also some good shots of the playfield would be nice, and the “uper-right” zone is nearly unknown so some pictures about this area would be nice!! :)
Thanks!!

Here is a little video I made:

Maybe you can correct it in another update.
Ecxellent! But it should be VPinball bug I think, because I used 4wires metal ramps and it shouldn’t render like that.

Ok I found the issue: some samples are not named correctly in the script…
For example “FlipperDown” should be “fx_FlipperDown” ^^’
I will update soon :)
Edit : 0.9a version released with sound issue fixed :)
Enjoy !

I think it’s not the case. This should be a script issue.
I have probably done a mistake when merging the script from the other version.
I just checked and it was working very well before I merge the script.
I will check but if someone find something feel free to share :)

Very nice, but i dont get any table sounds, flippers etc… anybody else had this?
I just notice the issue too…
I worked with the sound very low lol
I will check but in fact I would need help from the magicians here to polish it even more
A primitive of the lens tube would be nice! for example!

Just would like to thank because this table is amazing!!
I was already very happy vith the previous vpx version of this table so I didn’t test your one until now :)
Everything is perfect and plays great even if the table is quite easy (the real one was easy too)
So THANK YOU very nice and beautiful table !!
Just one question: I nearly don’t have any light reflexion on my ball with this table and didn’t manage to resolve this (very small) issue, even with a very hight ball reflexion value… Any help? Thanks! :)

Very nice update! Thanks !
BTW the table looks too dull I think but it’s easy to correct :)
Any hope to include the snake mod ? (it was already included in an old vpx version and it looks really great!)

Hi. I just tried and it works well! Thank!
Its name is strange btw because this backglass is full sized and not cut (I have a 5/4 screen so it’s perfect for me).
Named “no-grill”, I was thinking it will be a 16/9 cut one without the bottom part because usualy 16/9 backglass for 3 screens cab are named like that.
Which name do you suggest?
I would suggest something like this :
But again it’s not very important…
And usually it’s done with the same directb2s file using only the setting applied (“grill show” option)
^^

Just tried the version posted on Mega and it solves my issue : the black area at the bottom of my screen is gone :)
Thanks!

Well…Is that the best you’ve got???
Fantastic Job! this looks and plays awesome, a big THANKS to the contributers of this beauty.
During gameplay I did see 2 minor things:
1st: the 2 yellow flashers have a real strange effect. And there is a kind og yellow rectangle on the pf when it flashes.
Might be that I’m not on the very very latest Beta (stopped updating when there were severe problems) so might be my setup, will check that later.
2nd: ball stuck just behind the yellow left-of-ringmaster target. (see screenshot)
A little cab shaking could loosen it but may-be something for the next update
Again, thank you for this masterpiece!!
Brilliant table!
Had the same issue with the weird dark rectangle on the playfield when yellow flashers went off. For me at least it was a POV thing. The rectangle seems to come down the playfield as inclination lowers. Inclination at 5 i could see it similar to Jopp, upped it bit by bit and by 10 and it’d gone away.
I changed the POV with inclinaison to 7 and had the same problem with yellow flasher areas.
I fixed it by simply setting the f121b, f124b, f125b, f126b RotX values to -6.375 (instead of approx -18 in layer 7).
Now it’s perfect

Tried what I mentioned in the beginning of this thread ? https://vpinball.com/forums/topic/cirqus-voltaire-bally-1997-night-version/#post-125657
Thanks, I tried but it doesn’t work.
Not a big problem btw, I will wait the update :)

Thanks for the backglass. Works well here but I have a strange problem :
This is the only backglass I have that don’t stretch to my fullscreen area !
With this backglass I get a small black area/line at the bottom of my screen…
I have a 2 screens cab and my BG screen is 1280×1024.
Any help to fix that?

January 21, 2019 at 12:10 pm in reply to: Tales of the Arabian Nights (Williams 1996) Skitso's Detail MOD #110516Please some help, as I asked before, every time I reset the table the external DMD (freezy) on this table it changes the size after modifying the regedit, I want to try the vpinmame DMD, but I can’t see it ingame, when I try the Test function it works, but not with the table loaded, I tried to change the script to .Hidden = False, but no luck, what I’m missing? Any ideas?
Happened to me also one time. To resolve I just removed completely the config of this rom in regedit and the DMD appears again :)
Hope it helps
