Yeah… the 1660 has the be the best deal in computers right now. Performance of a 1070 at the price of a… well, something from ten years ago.

Great to see these types of discussions going on… people are always saying that VP has the advantage over other pinball games with physics… so it’s nice to see this physics fine tuning.
I always thought it would be cool if VPX could have a slider with some physics “presets” (EM, 70’s, 80’s Bally, Modern Stern, etc and whatever) so that the player could quickly switch between a different physics settings depending on what they were playing.

Yeah, it’s up to like 3.2 or 3.3… if you look at the downloads section at the other site it says 2.7, which is super outdated. You have to search the forum for the pinmame or pinmame beta thread for the latest one. Nothing ever gets updated at the VPF site, so check the forums.
*edit* It looks like it needs updated at this site as well.

It’s in the installation notes for the table… update pinmame.

The 1660 is a great deal. I got one not long ago for just over $200 and it benchmarks right at the same level as a 1070. I don’t have a 4k monitor, but I can crank all my game settings and upscale, etc…

VPX all in one installer has actually made this a lot easier than it used to be. Start with that and if you get stuck let us know.

The problem with the idea of any kind of legal stuff is that it brings unwanted attention to a hobby that has been carefully nestled in a place where it doesn’t receive much outside attention and then things like Ghostbusters start to happen, and probably worse.
Probably better to be a little more liberal with the banhammer and get rid of individual problematic cases with a quickness. Randr, I know you are a very easy going guy and I think everyone would agree that you are, myself included… but sometimes you just have to get rid of a few potential problems to keep things running smooth… whether it is issues with tables for profit, or with the recent “modding without permission” issues (this guy is still going strong at VPF with zero reprecussions)… just ban them and avoid the drama.
Anyway, that’s my simple suggestion… as Wildman and some others pointed out… you can’t get rid of them all so you have to either decide to win or lose.

Could be the end of an era. It was fun while it lasted.

I have a similar desktop setup, with one monitor mounted above the other for the backglass. I had some photos of it over at the other site, but I think they became extinct when photobucket took a dump on the internet a couple years back.

What’s that second table? Looks like old Fiction House comic art.

I think that’s one of the big reasons many of us are here… it’s really nice that we have some place to go besides VPF… not to mention this place is better in just about every other way as well.

I don’t think there’s any need of an update just for the sake of updating.

I would have to say Target Alpha because I have played the actual machine a good bit, but it’s really hard to pick. Loserman’s tables are many and they are consistent… the style and quality of the tables is always good.

Nice one… thanks, guys. This is one of those EM’s that always hangs about on the top 10 list at IPDB. Really nice to have a good vpx version.

New resources are always a great thing. Way to go.

Not to mention… table authors don’t owe us anything. If they want to finish a table, post pics of the finished table and never release it, that is their prerogative.
