Or add some more points and extend the ramp below the playfield so the flat part is below.

March 11, 2019 at 10:41 am in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #117499@htamas : are you running the required 10.6beta ?
Yes, I do.
This problem also happens on some other tables, one example is the new Firepower, but there is at least one more. Hundreds of other tables are running fine though, and I just started to get this error with a few tables. Could be something VB-related, not sure…
Scripts updated and only 1 copy of them only in the scripts folder?

March 9, 2019 at 2:06 pm in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #117285are the mods for thing working for anyone? I guess those should replace the texture on the box itself. All options show no change for me
I think this maybe per computer issue, video card /depth bias related somehow as they work fine for me (and others). What @Draifet recommended should work add .1 to Y and Z positions (shouldn’t need it on the X since it’s on the right side of the table, but won’t hurt to try) on “thingboxmods” on layer 2.

March 9, 2019 at 1:55 pm in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #117282I just tried the task manager trick and it fixed the focus issue I was having with this table when loading in PinballX.
I also started getting into Pinup Popper front end today and this table runs fine for me in there without focus issues.
Thanks for the tip about the task manager. Odd fix, but I’ll take it.
I did get a stuck ball on multiball. Came from swamp and put balls 2 into electric chair one after another. One came out, the other did not. Ball search could not release. Nudged until tilt with no luck shaking it out. Can barely see the ball in the pic.
You can unlock the ‘chairkicker’ and move it further down the table a bit to give more room for the extra balls in there. Should help, however you may have to adjust the power of the kicker in the script if it causes strange kickout behavior on normal single ball kick out.

Anyone noticing strange physic issues with 3653? I’ve run into several issues where the ball would be on a ramp, then like falls through it. On several tables the ball seems to just act strange around slings and flipper area. It’s hard to describe… seems like the ball is being nudged, but it’s not. So, it’s sortta jerky nudge movement I guess.
Any particular table to check?

March 8, 2019 at 11:04 am in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #117131Hi all, a couple things:
-G5K uploaded a v 2.1 uncompressed version.
-Compile Error / Unknown error – There seems to be a few people that have this happening. I also have it happen. We don’t have a ‘fix’ at this time, but it has been reported in the VPX beta thread. Hopefully the devs can help track it down, but it could be tricky as it’s a bit random. Some people have reduced max texture dimension in VP video options as a work around.
-Missing Rom error – disable “force exclusive fullscreen mode” in video options (not sure other fixes)
-Thing flips not working – this is not the same as ‘missing the shot’. Make sure you have latest vpinmame and updated vpx beta w/scripts
-Thing flips not accurate – try running the thing trainer option in the top of the script. It’s not going to get super accurate.
-one ball multiball/Missing Pinball at start-up (these are the same issue, you just may not be seeing the missing pinball error because you are loading from a front end or something). When the table launches it quite literally loads three balls into the trough (Mark the apron and InstCard2 as not visible if you want to watch). Anything that slows the table load will cause the balls to fail to create smoothly (script errors, missing b2s error, programs that switch focus, sometimes just the stupid PC, etc). No real fix right now, just try again.
-Ball stuck somewhere. I feel like we’ve tackled all the spots that one can get stuck in ‘normal’ play. If you can repeat something let us know and we’ll try to address it. But be aware, you could have your own USB device/accelerometer that could be causing the problem on your machine. Everything else, glass off and remove stuck ball (a.k.a., restart).
-Playability. We’re pretty happy with how it plays, line up 5 TAF real pins and they will all have things about them that are slightly different. I see mentioned the 1 thing that we agreed was a bummer, on most TAF pins you can get a rolling backhand from the right flipper to bear kick ramp (not cradled, that is doable). But in VP we couldn’t make it work, I think we would start compromising other shots to work on it which wasn’t worth it.
-GOLD. It’s coming. We just wanted bugs worked out first so it will just be a converted version of this one.

March 6, 2019 at 3:34 pm in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #116937Still, I have one problem, that I think has not been mentioned here before: Everything when starting it from VPX so not from a frontend. When I start the table (in fullscreen) the table does not get focus, so I have to alt-tab to do that manually. Starting it in force fullscreen unchecked it works. Can anybody help here?
Just for information:
I am on VPX beta 3592
the compile error happens only once after I made some ROM reset. After that, no complints about it… so not so interesting, just wanted to mention
I am using the (default) option: “PreloadMe” from the table. Setting it to 0 gets the same results
hoped the new tex comp version solves my problem, but it didn’t. Am I really the only one facing this? Seems so…
Btw for fun I did some side by side (Photoshop layer) comparison and there is no noticeable quality difference between 2.0 and 2.1 concerning texture graphics compression.
Only for the bumper caps, which was one of the wanted changes. I liked the original ones much more (they looked perfect now a bit milky), so what exactly can I do to revert this?
Use the corresponding images from the original version?
Change something in the material settings?
Change something in the object settings?
The script (don’t think so)?
Should just be the RGP3_bumpcaps_giONalt image. You can pull that from the previous version and reinsert into 2.1.

March 5, 2019 at 10:18 am in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #116611Great to hear. As-is the thing is so excellent. Of all the details, the extended ball shadow around the slingshot GI lights is my absolute favorite. Great creativity and attention to detail there.
Hopefully that unknown error/compile error thing gets sorted out on the VPX end. I have an RTX 2080 running in 4k and there are a number of large tables that do that with the latest beta. I don’t think that means anything is wrong with TAF.
I’m kind of happy you mentioned the shadows, I was pretty proud of that idea and thought it turned out pretty good.

March 5, 2019 at 9:56 am in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #116609Just a update to let you know we are working on a small update.
Some items we know we have sorted out:
thing flipper texture strangeness
some sounds issues
missing DOF items from @arngrim
been looking at ball stuck in swamp, but can’t replicate (need screenshots).Things I know we can’t really fix, “unknown error”/compile error (submitted an issue in the beta thread, I get this occasionally too and not just on this table, other large tables toog). Thing flips should work, make sure you have updated all your scripts with the beta and not left copies laying around. Missing ball, I’m looking at options, but not sure about that yet, just reload table.

This is such a good table. Plays really well. I couldn’t help any longer, my nudging skills were just not good enough, I had to change sw38 power down to 10 from 12. Everything is great on this release!

I have some useful resources for this project. It was going to be my next one on a ” from scratch” build as Bord suggested. Give me a bit and I’ll try to get some stuff together.

March 3, 2019 at 12:11 pm in reply to: The Addams Family (Bally 1992) V2 – G5K, Sliderpoint, 3rdAxis #116239INCREDIBLE work thanks For sharing! This is my #1 favorite table!
I apologize if this is a stupid question, is it possible to get the *THING* lighting to show please?
On layer 2 is a “grill” check that as visible and then adjust your camera view to include it in your screen. They should still be there.

It would be switch 16, not sol 16. switch 16 is the start button in the ROM. Shouldn’t be needed as it should be mapped/handled by vpinmame.

Congrats Bord! Glad to see you finally got it released. Looks amazing. I know how long these things take and it’s always a great feeling to get them out for everyone.
Thanks for all your effort!
