Hello and welcome to here! Yeah I first came across VP due to MAME as well (in 2002). I have to say I have received 100X more joy and happiness from VP than MAME (MAME has been great as well lol).
VP reignited my passion for pinball and I now have a good collection of real pins. I love the digital as well including the Zen stuff and others. This is a great time to be in this hobby.

OK so I picked up a lattepanda…. I’m going to install VP and see how it does… I have an elecrow 10″ 1080P display and a 7″ lattePanda display.
if this works. that would be cool. I would build something a bit bigger than his project above. nice tabletop or (desktop at work) model. Not sure how good the graphics card is in this sucker

Well if it is working in the UHD color mode on the TV, have you tried to get your video output to match for the wider color gamut?

OK I’m dying to hear what your results are….. Have the LG coming in and will test it vs. my Acer Predator 32″… but that LG vs. Acer in the same size, my guess is the LG will win…. When do you get that new ACER??

I’m actually getting the LG to try out as well…. Don’t have a cabinet for it, but want to compare it to my 32″ 4K Acer Predator (which has been awesome).

4K is totally worth losing the inches.
There is a movement going on for 4K conversions and some things (if you use the Zen tables) look much much better in 4k
22 is still pretty good for lag…. 11 is pretty slow though on response time… could be problematic for motion..

has been harder to get these days. I have ordered 2 of them and they both were smashed in shipping. They are rumored to have burn-in issues of some sort, but other than that are well-loved.
I’m thinking of trying to order one again…..
That LG is a great price and has HD support….. def. interesting…. Need to research that one a bit. I think I would lean towards the LG.

This WIP thread is FASCINATING!
I guess Horsepin has done some badass tables in the past or something. Did a quick search and seems like he is about the same everywhere that I glanced.
The trollish prickishness is over the top, but he seems to enjoy it.
Can’t tell if he would be a really interesting person to meet in real life or horrible. Or a mix of both? Good times!
@horsepin What tables did you do in the past? Evil Dead and Jaws? Any others?

As for artwork, IF you want a really great project, I might suggest a remastering of the RandR 3 Angels graphics so it rocks on 4K!

I wish I could see an example of @nemo 40″ 4K… nice size. I wonder how it compares vs. the current IPS displays out there?

So he is saying that he is working on perfecting the physics and when it is done he will release his tables again. Then he says that it will never be perfected and it is basically just a video game. Maybe I have misread that?
I do hope he releases his stuff again. Alas, I missed the old window to get some of his stuff. :(
