Does anyone else not have table animation when the nudge key is hit? I can see the creature move and i’ve tilted the table but the table won’t animate when nudged, nor doe s the sound get triggered.

I copied the code from the NN/TT table as I’ve installed that one and the table does animate when nudged but still nothing on this one. I even updated the load pm line from the NZ/TT table but still nada.

        anyone been able to solve?

Yeah those are the GI Lights i’m pretty sure.

If they obscure things when you change your POV you’ll need to move them around.

:-) This is a great recreation. Thank you to all involved. Family had fun over weekend with it and prompted us to enjoy the movie as well.

I was curious about the several yellow/orange glow circles that are great for the out of the box POV but when I change things to match my consistent POV preference these glow areas reposition and mostly over unfortunate areas. Typically this is easily solved by me tweaking an environment image but that isn’t the case here and I looked through all images in the list. Can someone direct me to which image or Element contains these glow spots?

If I have to I’ll keep the original POV but my OCD is already dreading that. :-)

Those are probably GI lights. Can you show an example of what you mean? I’m assuming maybe like the one behind the alien head? I’m guessing if you’re going to mess with the POV then you’ll need to do an overhaul on the GI lighting or just leave and have them overcast areas when you change it.

              @outhere

we did very little as far as scripting the ssf sounds.

if you go into sound manager and adjust the FX_bumper 1,2,3 just a tad on the slider it’ll eliminate the sound on the Backglass. On my system i moved it a hair towards the Front direction of the slider and it removed it from my backglass

theres a couple tweaks we need to get to

              @terry
we fixed that. The guy who touched it up didn’t let us know before hand it was Francisco’s image he touched up. When i filmed the first teaser video on my channel we had used an untouched version of Francisco’s PF image.

thank you all for the kind words.

So I’m a recent member of the SSF tribe. After awhile of going back and forth whether I should or i shouldn’t i finally pulled the trigger on Parts-Express when a good coupon code popped up.

So I went with 4 x hdn-8 exciters and 1 Lepai 2020ti amp, adding to the pre-existing Logitech Z313 2.1 setup i was using for overall audio before. I made a mistake on the amp since it’s only 2.0 but after a few weeks of use, I don’t think I need the Bass shakers in my mini and also I don’t have the room to add one. If i decide to swap out amps, I’ll probably think of adding puck exciters. For now thos it’s great.

Since I’m running it off 1 amp, I’ve wired the HDN-8s in parallel, 2 per channel so it drops the ohms down to 4. Not sure if that makes a difference for these amps *shrug*

On the software side of things it took me a minute messing with the Realtek software and VPX sound options till i finally got something that works. In Realtek I set my audio set up to Quadrophonic so the windows “sees” only 4 speakers and in VPX I selected 7.1. This gave me the most oomf in regards to sound without having to jack up my amp. I’m not to keen on this one and wish I had gone with the Lepy but I’ll end up changing it out soon. With my configuration i only gotta put the amp about halfway to really get some good feedback. When I tried putting the speakers in 5.1 or 7.1 I was having to crank my amp higher so I went with the Quad set up. Because It’s a mini the sounds are spot on. i feel the bumpers and hear them correctly. might be my brain but it’s working. I’ve also gone about uniforming all sounds on most tables, so they all have the same impact.

So now comes APO software. I’d previously installed it but i see I’m missing Peace to tie it all together? I’m still lost as to if i truly need it, because as is it’s great, so i’m wondering what more benefits adding APO/Peace will bring and if there’s some sort of drop in config file.

                Thanks!

I tried using that script thalamus and kept getting an undefined error. It didn’t understand “PlaySoundAt”

I first tried it on ICPJuggla’s 1.3f version of TRON as I prefer that one to G5Ks and I got the error. I literally looked at the script from G5K copied the Keys portion and pasted it in ICP’s and no dice.

It took some trial and error because I too was getting the pullback and plunger sound when i hit other keys using a different script. Finally got it right and it’s worked on TRON, Jacks Open and Lucky Seven that i tested last night. I had to script like this:

                  For the Pullback:

If keycode = PlungerKey Then Plunger.Pullback:PlaySound “plungerpull”

                  And for the plunger release:

If keycode = PlungerKey Then Plunger.Fire:PlaySound “plunger”

Go into BAM\CFG folder and delete all the CFG files that have table names. Make sure Terry’s CFG file is named default and in the BAM folder and for good measure in the CFG folder too.

After you delete all the table named CFG files, when you launch a table they’ll all default to Terry’s default file.

The latest BAM update should sort you out as it has the option to fade out the watermark. I too have noticed that using the OG EXE i get better performance when running it in my front end. Tables that didn’t render before when launched in my front end now do. Then just use an XML file for physics.

i sent his paypal email an offer of 25.00 for no watermark 1.6.1 exe

FP has not been in development since 2008! Chris Leathly has walked away from it. It was also possible he was paid money from another game / cabinet builder company back in 2008 for the rights for it. So he may not be allowed to update it, assuming he even has the original source code at all still.

The company he sold too NanotechGaming is no longer producing the MultiPin product that FP was originally going to be used in. In fact all the tables that were supposed to be included in that product are freely available on PinSIMDB.

I have contacted that company in relation to FP and what I was told by someone that is answering the emails there is that Chris would need to release the source code himself.

I am in the process of trying all avenues to contact him and see if he still has the original source and if he would release it.

If you’re gonna go 3 screens and re-purposing an old PC, use the onboard graphics card for your DMD and the ones on your GPU for playfield and backglass.

I love reel it in! and yeah those tribute to the 80’s games are great.

Also for the DOFlinx games you don’t need DOF setup just make sure you have the DOFLinx.vbs script in your tables folder.

Also i’d suggest having both versions of a recreated table (FP and VPX) as each will bring different elements (aside from physics :eye roll:)

Like for example I have 3 versions of Terminator 2 from FP alone. Sometimes different tables offer different experiences. (The versions I have are Skynet, Ultimate with real DMD Animations and GLXB mod)

Yeah Gimli added them to the Attack from Mars Ultimate edition he helped mod for me to add spinning saucers. I honestly haven’t played tables that have that incorporated enough to see a difference. I tend to up the flipper strength depending on table and keep it at soft or intermediate.

I’m planning to add them to Slam’s LOTR Ultimate 1.06 edition that unearthed and revamping by doing the NEO LED mod to it and changing up a few textures. Once I finish getting the lighting correct I’ll work on the physics.

Smoke’s physics are weird especially with the “weight” he gives flippers. Even playing with a keyboard it lags.

I have been experimenting with his as a template but in the end I just pick 2.5 (i was using 2.7 I may need to go back to it)

I tend to increase the ball mass to 45 and the gravity to above 7000 then angle the table slope appropriate. I’m FAR from a pro player so aiming and stuff of that nature are enh to me. Ball float is what bugged me more, but now with adjusting gravity and slope i get a good ball roll. You would need to adjust some kickers though.

                                        TOTAN is a fun table.

You can move the DMD to “off visible area” similar to how you move the HUD versions but you can’t delete it because it’s in the script. There shouldn’t be any performance lag.

I didn’t know you needed to use B2S for Future Pinball? It has a built in backglass/translite feature. You may want to turn that off.

What tables in particular are causing issue or is this across the board?

The biggest culprit i’ve found is Windows Defender Real Time Scanning. Even if you put exceptions on it’ll cause lag and stutter due to scripts. I’ve noticed this on Data East tables (Tales from the Crypt, Last Action Hero, BTTF, etc.)

If you’re still having issues turn off real time scanning and launch a table.
